🧵 2027 Quilt Fiesta! Exhibit Spotlight
With Thread and Ink: Portrait Quilts by Patsy Heacox
Every face has a story. Every quilt preserves a piece of history.
In November 2010, American Quilter magazine featured Patsy Heacox in an article titled “Painting the Past,” highlighting her remarkable ability to bring historical figures and personal stories to life through fabric, paint, and appliqué.
Inspired by her lifelong fascination with history, Patsy developed a distinctive approach to portrait quilting, combining artistic expression with careful historical research. Her work captures not only the likeness of her subjects but also the emotion and stories behind their faces.
An early member of the Tucson Quilters Guild, Patsy has a special connection to our quilting community.
We’re excited to feature “With Thread and Ink: Portrait Quilts” at Quilt Fiesta! 2027!
