The Native American Advancement Foundation was formed in 2011 by members of the Tohono O’odham Tribe to deliver academic services throughout the Tohono O'odham Nation in Pima County, Arizona. Through our efforts, we are strengthening Native American communities by providing programs in the areas of education, nutrition, environment, wellness, and opening economic opportunities on tribal lands. ng our many programs: The Gu Vo Academic After-School Program; Gu Vo Academic Summer Adventure; Virtual Learning Center; Grad Solutions; Arizona FoodCorps Garden; Environmental Advocacy; Girls' Voices, Animal Welfare, and spreading preventative messaging to increase the perception of harm of alcohol and drugs among minors.

What an amazing last three days of O'odham Camp!

Day 3: An unforgettable tour of Kitt Peak with Ms. Jacelle Ramon-Sauberan (San Xavier District) and the incredible youth workers from Schuk Toak District, who helped guide our large group. One of our campers recognized his grandpa Jeffery's name on a design he created for Kitt Peak! 🤩

Day 3/4: A heartfelt thank you to the San Pedro community for welcoming us for our overnight campout, and to Mr. Willard Thomas for blessing our group before early morning bahidaj picking. ⛺️🌵🪣

Day 5: MOVIES!!!!! 🎬🍿🍕

THANK YOU to camp leader Mr. Ethan Antone for the countless hours he put into planning such an incredible week for our kids. And to all of the staff and volunteers who showed up with love and energy each day. Your dedication made this camp a truly unforgettable experience! 👏❤️

🌵☀️ What an incredible start to O'odham Camp!

Day 1: Special guest 🌟Mr. Sean🌟 from the HOPP, led engaging activities that kept our campers active and smiling all day long.

Day 2: Hanam Kek Rec, where campers enjoyed an action-packed day! A huge thank you to WE R1 T.O. Basketball for leading drills and inspiring our young athletes. Older campers had a blast playing volleyball with the Rec staff, while the younger campers cooled off and enjoyed the splash pad. ⛹️‍♀️💦🏐

We are grateful to each group for investing time, energy, and encouragement in the youth. Your partnership helps create unforgettable experiences and strengthens our community 🙏🤝

Ruth's Oidag has really blessed us this summer! A special thank you to the GuVo District Youth Workers, Nathan (Kukaj)and Xavier (GuVo), who assisted Master Gardener, Boy. After tending the oidag, the team built benches for the garden + Elders with donated lumbar 🙌💪🌱🌽 Swing by The Food Pantry to take home some fresh harvest - Corn, Beans, Squash and much more!
