We learn and work together to make a difference in both our local and global community. Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. It is a secular organization ope

n to all persons regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. There are 34,282 clubs and over 1.2 million members worldwide.[1] The members of Rotary Clubs are known as Rotarians. Members usually meet weekly for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, which is a social event as well as an opportunity to organize work on their service goals. Rotary's primary motto is "Service Above Self"; its secondary motto is, "One profits most who serves best."[2]

πŸ’™πŸ’› It's Waaayback Wednesday! πŸ’›πŸ’™

Recipients of the grants from our Charity Golf Tournament Fundraiser were guests of the club for lunch, and each spoke for a few minutes to tell how they were using the money. One recipient even brought samples of the robots that students built. This was the meeting of May 31, 2018.

Each quarter of the year, members sign up for a dinner group called "Fun With Rotarians". Each group decides how they will spend time together. Sometimes a group will gather for a typical Tucson Appetizer Party, other times a family dinner or trip to a restaurant. Recently, the Bakers, Herrs, Lowya, Terrys, and the Zientarskis met for dinner at the Preserve at SaddleBrooke. Thanks to Fran Lowy for the photo, along with information from Elaine Terry and Bre Zientarski.
