Our August 6 program from Mary Kay Voss:

Our August 6 program will feature Craig Robinson and Mickey Prock of Team Rubicon Tucson, who will give us an inside look at one of the nation’s most respected disaster response organizations.

Craig, the Tucson Metro Administrator, is a retired Emergency Department Physician Assistant and U.S. Army Reservist. Since joining Team Rubicon in 2014, he has responded to hurricanes, floods, wildfires, COVID operations, refugee resettlement, and numerous fire mitigation projects. After retiring from both military and civilian service, he returned to Arizona and now leads Team Rubicon’s Tucson Metro region.

Joining Craig is Mickey Prock, the Tucson Metro Logistics Coordinator. Since becoming involved with Team Rubicon in 2021, Mickey has deployed on disaster missions across the country, serving in logistics, chainsaw operations, roof tarping, muck-outs, and refugee resettlement. Today, he coordinates the people, equipment, and supplies that make successful disaster response possible throughout Arizona. Together, Craig and Mickey will share how Team Rubicon mobilizes veterans and civilian volunteers to help communities recover from natural disasters. They’ll discuss recent missions, including projects here in Southern Arizona, and offer a behind-the-scenes look at the planning, teamwork, and commitment that make these operations successful.

This is the team that we helped when they were here to clean up Oracle after the fire last year. This promises to be an informative and inspiring program you won’t want to miss.

Zone 26 Rotary Foundation Team

Kristi has joined the Rotary Zone 26 Rotary Foundation Team as an Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator for the next three years. There are 16 districts in Zone 26 in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado. The Rotary Foundation Team consists of a Regional Coordinator, an Endowment & Major Gift Advisor, an End Polio Now Coordinator, and four Assistant Coordinators. The team trains, educates, and guides local districts and clubs on Rotary Foundation programs, helps leaders secure grants, and supports international humanitarian efforts.

Kristi joined Saddlebrooke Rotary Club four years ago after moving to Oro Valley from Oregon. She originally joined the Kruse Way - Lake Oswego Rotary Club in 1989. She is a past District Governor and former District Rotary Foundation Chair in Oregon, and she just finished a three-year term as the District Rotary Foundation Chair in our district. She has also had the distinct honor of receiving RI’s Service Above Self Award and the Citation for Meritorious Service. Kristi is deeply grateful to continue helping The Rotary Foundation. Recent data shows a strong correlation between strong, vibrant, growing clubs and a culture of giving to the Rotary Foundation. Conversely, there is a clear link between declining clubs and a lack of financial support.

Kennedy Ivy is a US Navy veteran who is active in his community in San Manuel, AZ.

He has served as President of the San Manuel Revitalization Coalition since its organization in 2020. He continues to serve and support the community through his role as Community Relations Manager for Red Hawk Exploration.

Kennedy is active in his local Church of Christ. His varied work and volunteer contributions include that with Pinal County Government.

Kennedy was sponsored for membership by Pete Watson.

On July 19, 2018, Rotarian Jim Lamb shared his story with Polio and gave us an education in Polio 101. At the end of Jim's program, member Mark Miller launched his "Ride to End Polio" campaign for el Tour de Tucson later in the fall.

On Saturday, July 25, 2026, 8 hearty Saddlebrooke Rotary members headed out to Florence for the 2026 District 5500 Training Assembly. Alas, the designated venue for the event, the Community Center and Library, was locked up tight. Quick action by the local Florence Rotary Club made it possible to shift the entire program to the Greentree Inn in Florence.

Bill Demeroutis, Wendy Guyton (District Membership Chair), Tom Fraioli, Gail Fraioli, Harvey Smith, Diane Demeroutis, Jennifer (How did she get in the photo?), Dan Devou, and Lynn Devou.

We can all be proud of those members who dedicated a Saturday to leadership development for our club. Our members accounted for just under 30% of all participants.
