A Legacy of Excellence Scholarship

A Legacy of Excellence's roots trace back to a group of TUSD educators saying “Not on My Watch “cooking dinners and providing scholarships.

The A Legacy of Excellence Scholarship exists as a partnership of educators and community partners within the Tucson community combining their efforts in the support of African American students pursuing post-secondary education within Tucson. Determined to do more Jeffery Sawyer and a group of community members and educators said we must do more. As a result, a thriving organization has been buil

t over the last 15 years here in Tucson in which $5,000 individual student scholarships are granted and community sponsors have made it possible to donate laptop computers and fulfill other needs of our students throughout the concept of emphasizing community, legacy, empowerment and academic achievement.
