A Reminder: Ministry Resources International is conducting its Certificate of Bible Mastery course at Pantano Christian Church beginning Monday, September 12 through Monday, May 15, 2023. There are several breaks, including breaks for the holidays, and child care is not available.

The Certificate of Bible Master Course (COBM) is a 28-lesson course examining various events and accounts in the Old and New Testament using a historical, systematic learning process Jesus utilized during His Earthly ministry. The materials are non-denominational, but based upon recognized, historical, Christian statements of faith and doctrines.

The tuition cost is $795.00. If you have successfully taken MRI: Bible Basics, attending 7 of the 8 classes, the tuition is discounted to $745.00.

• Weekly homework assignments are required
• Must have access to the internet

In partnership with Pantano Christian Church and the MRI Team, MRI will be conducting its Certificate of Bible Mastery Course beginning in September 2022. The course will be conducted through its Learning Management System and its In-classroom environment at Pantano.

The tuition for this course has been significantly reduced, and an additional rebate opportunity is considered for those who previously completed, successfully, Bible Basics.

Ministry Resources International’s, Minister Highlights

Paul De Young has been involved in volunteer ministry for almost four decades. He moved from Illinois to Tucson in 1993 and has been attending Pantano Christian Church since that time. Paul is an MRI Certificate of Bible Mastery graduate of 2015, Certificate of Ministry Leadership in 2016, and recently completed Teaching The Bible for Effective Transformation.

Paul retired early from his paid career in January 2021. This has opened doors to devote more volunteer time to be a Youth Leader in Pantano Student Ministry, where he occasionally preaches, a coach to students that host Christian clubs in their schools, and a Chaplain at Northwest Medical Center.

Paul states, “MRI has been a major source of equipment, empowerment, and encouragement for investing in each individual God places in front of me. Pastor Dana teaches an amazing way to study the Bible. He provides tools that are useful for personal growth and sharing God’s truth with others. MRI courses plunge
their students deep into the treasure chest of God’s Word to discover handfuls of gems.”

In partnership with Pantano Christian Church, Ministry Recourses International conducted its “Teaching the Bible for Effective Transformation” interactive-seminar. The event was attended by pastors, ministers, children and adult Bible teachers, and a colleague from Montana. These men and women of Christ demonstrated their devotion to the learners Christ sets before them in their respective ministries and to the Word of God.

Ministry Resources International has been blessed with some of the finest men and women in ministry, and certainly, Tom Sende is one of them.

Tom Sende, originally from Cameroon, West Africa, has been with us for almost 8 years; he may be the second, longest enrollee and team member still active with MRI. In addition to being an excellent facilitator and teacher, scholar, writer, and Christian philosopher, Tom is a man of prayer and grace. Recently, Tom shared this about MRI:

At the close of MRI’s most recent Bible Basics Course, the Teaching Team of Dana. Liz, and Bill gifted each enrollee a new copy of this long-standing book by Henrietta Mears. Thousands have come to understanding the Bible by this dynamic woman of Christ. Here are two of the many responses from this last class:

Jesus‘ last words on the cross and Psalm 31:5

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.” Having said this, He breathed His last. Luke 23:46 (NASB)

By way of this text in Luke, Jesus is quoting the first part of Psalm 31:5 which, in the Hebrew language, it reads like this:

“In Your hand I entrust my spirit… “

The Hebrew verb entrust “אַפְקִיד” (pronounced afkid) is translated into the English verb “commit” and implies the notion of “depositing;” something entrusted to someone else with the future act of reclaiming or returning back that which was entrusted by the owner. We can think of this as making a financial deposit into a savings account with the idea- and act- of taking it back (out of the trust) in the future.

This is what Jesus did just before His last breath: He entrusted/committed (deposited) His Spirit into the safe keeping of the Father until it was time for Jesus to reclaim His Spirt. And that reclaiming happened on the third day of His burial- He received back His entrusted Spirit and walked out of the tomb!

We just completed another exciting nine-week, Bible Basics Course at Pantano Christian Church (PCC) with a group of very motivated and retained enrollees. The Teaching Team made up of Dana of MRI, and Bill Ross & Liz Kim from Pantano, brought a combined 40 years of teaching and Bible experience to the class!

A Comment about Discipleship:
Pantano Christian Church is developing a robust, discipleship ministry and MRI is honored to be a part of it; as our society is moving forward, churches like PCC are equipping their congregations to mold into the community with the Gospel. This effort is hard work and can be so costly to do so, but there is no other preoccupation that has the eternal rewards discipleship offers.
