Dear friends & neighbors -
This can be an increasingly difficult time for people in our community, and I firmly believe that food is not only one of the great equalizers of humanity, but also a human right.
Kingfisher will be opening its doors on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from noon to 2:00 p.m. to furloughed Federal workers and their families for approximately 250-300 free meals, on a first-come, first-served basis. Kingfisher employees are donating their time, and we are appreciative of Shamrock Foods, Peddler's Son, and Greco Foods, as well as our staff and their families' time, for their donations and volunteerism to make this happen.
Tucson is a tight-knit community, and as a locally-owned business, it is important to us to support all of our community members when possible. If we are able to continue to receive continued donations and volunteers for these events, we will continue to serve meals on Sundays when possible as long as the Federal government shutdown continues.
