Mesquite Horse Rescue and Outreach Program

The program is to give youth the opportunity to experience an outdoor life style using the power of horses to encourage self respect, strength & confidence

Mesquite Horse Rescue and Outreach Program became a thought after my brothers and I started attending horse camps in 2008. We met Sy Johonson, an O'ohdam elder, who opened our eyes to the use of horses and their ability to teach us power, strength, love, respect, manners, self worth and hard work. We began to think this is something we could share to our people and the children of the Pascua Yaqui

Communities. Thus with the help of our father, mother, elders, Sundance family, community and children, our vision of horse camp was set to take place and its first year was in 2011. We want to continue this program and thank every single person and donation we've received to keep our program together. Please msg us for more information or feedback, we'd appreciate it. Merry Christmas! We got to participate in the Pascua Yaqui Christmas Light Parade and enjoyed hearing all the kids and adults shout CAT IN THE HAT! Lol
