We’re about to "fall" into a season full of fun: the annual bake sale, a block event, a pirate party, and everything in between.
But first, let’s learn how to prevent the real falls and fire risks that can affect our homes and loved ones. Tucson Fire will be with us at Fountain of Life Church on South Kolb Road this Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 6 p.m. with practical safety tips.
Please come. It’s our last formal meeting of the year, a way to show respect to our first responders for their time and a great chance to catch up and look ahead to what's next!
Everyone is welcome!

Sometimes even kindness needs a little tending. After an early July storm left the kindness heart on our eucalyptus tree a little askew, neighbors gathered to put it back into place.
Community is something we nurture together. for this little circle of care

We woke up to rain this morning and thought our Tucson Fire Department spray‑down event might wash away… but just before start time, the clouds opened, the sun came out, and Tucson Fire brought the laughs to about 80 neighbors, from kiddos to the young at heart. It was a little bit of nostalgia for those who grew up running through sprinklers, and new memories for the new generation. Deep gratitude to the Tucson Fire Department's Station 9 for bringing a little magic to a soggy morning! And thanks to Paul Cunningham's Ward 2 office for helping us get the word out.

Hey neighbors! The Tucson Fire Department is rolling in with a splash this Saturday at 9 a.m. near the playground at Palo Verde Park. Come cool off under the fire hose spray. Popsicles are on us. You bring some laughter, friends and summer spirit!

Food waste is a serious issue… but let’s be honest, sometimes that spinach just doesn’t make it. The good news? You don’t have to feel quite as guilty anymore. Tucson now has a FoodCycle drop‑off at Palo Verde Park on the south side of the park for your produce, coffee grounds, egg shells and bread. Sign up for a quick training, get your free pail, and give those forgotten fridge casualties a second life as compost that can go back into replenishing soil. What a difference one year makes. It was at one time a blank slate. A totally barren scrap of land that nothing grew on...
Twelve months ago to the day, the City of Tucson - Government Storm to Shade team hydroseeded a blank patch of earth in our labyrinth: a hopeful little experiment supported by Tucson Clean & Beautiful including our neighbors and friends.
Today, that blank slate has become a small desert oasis, buzzing with life. Roadrunners dart through the grasses, rabbits take shelter in the shade, and the whole space feels alive.
It’s amazing what happens when a community invests in a place and lets nature do the rest.

A big thank‑you to our neighbors who decorated heart‑shaped pavers and placed them along the labyrinth, brightening the path and sharing a little love with everyone who walks it.
Each one is a reminder that kindness multiplies when we put it out into the world. Have a good weekend and hope to see you at the ice cream social tomorrow!

It’s too hot for ice cream in the park in June, but it’s never too hot for connection.
Join us on Sunday, June 14 for an Ice Cream Social hosted in the cool, welcoming space of our generous neighbors at Fountain of Life Church.
Strong neighborhoods grow from simple moments of showing up, sharing a treat, and getting to know the people who live around us. Every hello makes our community safer, kinder, and more resilient: the kind of neighborhood where people look out for one another.
Ice cream’s on us - and we won't forget the sprinkles!
