What a treasure of a day! Thank you to everyone who came out to pirate it up with us, whether you brought the kids, brought the fun, or brought both.

A hearty thank you to Desert Diva Face Painting and Airbrush Tattoos for transforming our crew into swashbucklers, mermaids, and scallywags, DJ-Clint Pittenger for keeping the energy high and the tunes flowing, and especially to Bleed'n Heart Cove for being absolutely pitch-perfect pirates with hearts as big as the sea.

Most of all, thank you to our neighbors. Events like these only happen because people show up, volunteer, play along, and help create community.

Hi neighbors! With the temperatures continuing to soar, we've decided to cancel Sunday's block party and regroup in the spring when we can all enjoy being outside a little more comfortably. The annual Palo Verde Park Neighborhood Association's fundraising bake sale is live! We're taking pre-orders for our $10 treats for delivery later this month. We’re about to "fall" into a season full of fun: the annual bake sale, a block event, a pirate party, and everything in between.
But first, let’s learn how to prevent the real falls and fire risks that can affect our homes and loved ones. Tucson Fire will be with us at Fountain of Life Church on South Kolb Road this Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 6 p.m. with practical safety tips.
Please come. It’s our last formal meeting of the year, a way to show respect to our first responders for their time and a great chance to catch up and look ahead to what's next!

We woke up to rain this morning and thought our Tucson Fire Department spray‑down event might wash away… but just before start time, the clouds opened, the sun came out, and Tucson Fire brought the laughs to about 80 neighbors, from kiddos to the young at heart. It was a little bit of nostalgia for those who grew up running through sprinklers, and new memories for the new generation. Deep gratitude to the Tucson Fire Department's Station 9 for bringing a little magic to a soggy morning! And thanks to Paul Cunningham's Ward 2 office for helping us get the word out.
