✨ Meet the twins: Oso & Duckie ✨ 
These bonded 2.5-year-old siblings have been with us since they were puppies. They’ve moved from home to home, always searching for their forever family — together.

And together is exactly where they belong.
They balance each other perfectly. They lean on one another for comfort, confidence, and courage. They’re wonderful with other dogs, thrive in a pack, and LIVE for playtime (especially a good game of tag!). Both are treat-motivated and eager to learn.

🐤 Duckie is the confident, high-energy adventurer. Smart, sassy, affectionate, and always ready to chase a lizard. She loves attention and keeps life entertaining.

🐻‍❄️ Oso is the mellow cuddle bug. A sunbathing, belly-up sweetheart who loves “cobbing” his favorite humans and soaking up affection once he warms up.

They are inseparable — emotionally and practically. We know adopting two dogs is a big ask… but they are double the love, double the laughs, and double the loyalty.

The compassion you’ve shown us has been overwhelming ❤️ Every message, share, and donation reminds us we’re not alone — and neither are our dogs.
But we’re still in a fragile place. We urgently need donations and new fosters to keep our doors open. The next few days are critical.

Meet Luna 💜 aka LuLu, our little Energizer Bunny 🐰✨ She’s a happy, wiggly goofball who loves to cuddle, walks beautifully on leash, has great recall, and is already learning commands in Spanish. She’s great with kids, okay with cats, and would thrive as an only dog while she works on some resource guarding.

Luna has LOTS of energy and needs an active foster or adopter ready for adventure + snuggles. She just needs stability and someone willing to meet her where she’s at.

To everyone who has donated so far, shared our post, reached out with kind words, or offered to foster… your support means more than we can ever fully express. When things feel heavy and uncertain, it’s you who remind us why we keep going.

You have no idea how much hope this gives us. That said, we still URGENTLY need more donations and additional fosters to keep Lend A Bone going. We are still struggling, and the days ahead are critical.

The first pup we want to introduce is Cash! 🩵

Cash is a coonhound mix with the sweetest soul. He is incredibly affectionate, gentle, and deeply loves his people. He’s very smart and picks up commands quickly, is house trained and crate trained, and has a calm, easy-going personality that makes him a joy to be around.

Cash absolutely loves playing tag with his buddies Oso and Duckie — the three of them will run around endlessly, chasing each other and having the best time. He would make an amazing companion for someone who enjoys traveling, being outdoors, or just having a loyal best friend by their side. Cash is a true lover boy — he gives hugs, seeks affection, and has a way of looking at you that radiates pure, unconditional love.

Cash is more than ready for a forever home, but even a foster would mean the world to him right now. He deserves stability, comfort, and someone to see just how special he is.

We need your help—now more than ever 🥺🩵

We want to be transparent with our community. Donations have slowed, and we understand one of the reasons may be because we’re not currently pulling new dogs. What many don’t see is why: we already have multiple dogs in our rescue who still need fosters, adoptions, medical care, food, training, and daily support. Their needs don’t stop just because intakes do. Every single day, the costs continue to add up — and right now, we are struggling to keep up.

Our director, who is also the primary financial support for the rescue, is currently facing serious personal hardships. Because of this, Lend A Bone is on an indefinite intake hold unless we’re able to pay off current bills and build even a small emergency cushion for the rescue.

On top of that, our director is personally fostering 11 of our rescue dogs, and due to circumstances beyond her control, she is now being forced to find new housing for both herself and them. This situation is heartbreaking and overwhelming — and it means we urgently need fosters and support.

Lend A Bone has always stood for the dogs no one else will take — the overlooked, neglected, and high-risk dogs who often come with behavioral and medical needs. These dogs require time, rehabilitation, and resources — but we believe they are worth it. We always say our dogs have a home with us, and we never want to break that promise.

But to keep that promise, we need help. We need donations. We need fosters. We need support. And we need our community.

✨ Mars is STILL searching for his forever home! ✨

Mars is a sweet, soulful husky who was rescued from Devore’s euthanasia list alongside Denali — who has since found his happy ending. Now it’s Mars’ turn to find the loving family he deserves 🩵

Mars is around 2 years old and truly has the best heart. He’s great with all people, including kids (who he absolutely adores 🥹), and he’s wonderfully social with dogs of all sizes and even cats. He loves connection and thrives on affection.

This sensitive, intelligent boy is food-motivated and eager to please. With time and support from our trainer, Mars has come out of his shell beautifully. He is now fully house trained, potty trained, and crate trained, and has excellent manners both at home and out in the world.

Mars is leash-trained, does great on walks, and is also trained in off-leash recall up to ¼ mile. He enjoys playing with toys, spending time outside, and going on hikes. While he’s generally low-energy and easygoing, he lights up during playtime and adventures.

An added bonus — Mars is naturally alert and will bark to keep coyotes away while outside, which has been such a comfort and allows smaller dogs to safely enjoy the yard. 🐺🚫

Mars truly checks all the boxes and would make an incredible addition to almost any home 🏡

Merry Christmas from our rescue team and some of our pups 🎄🥹🐾

Our hearts are so full this Christmas. We truly cannot put into words how grateful we are for the love, kindness, and support you show us every single day. Especially today we’ve had several people donate and it’s all incredibly helpful. Because of you, dogs who once had no hope are given safety, healing, and a second chance at the life they deserve. This work is only possible because of this incredible community ❤️

We are especially overwhelmed with gratitude for one of our former adoptive/foster families—who we love dearly—who stepped in and donated to cover the remainder of our $2,500 match… and then went above and beyond. Their generosity brought us to happy tears, and we cannot thank them enough for continuing to stand by us and the dogs we fight for. Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.

While this blessing means so much, the need never stops. We are still desperately in need of donations, fosters, and adopters to continue saving lives. Roscoe did amazing at the vet yesterday! 🖤 The doctor said that he’s healing perfectly, and we can truly see it — he’s feeling better and looking better every day.

We’re still in great need of donations to help cover expenses like his veterinary care, ongoing training, and food costs. These bills add up quickly, and we truly need the support of our community to keep our rescue running and able to say yes to dogs who need us.

Adopt Chunky! 🤩

Chunky, who we rescued a couple months ago from euthanasia, is ready for adoption and searching for his forever family! 🏡❤️

Chunky is the ultimate chill companion—he just wants to be wherever you are. He’s like a little bodyguard who’s happy to follow your lead and keep you company.

Some facts about Chunky ⬇️

• Great on walks: He does well on a leash and loves getting out to explore. He’s a total Mr. Nosey—ready to greet everyone and check out what’s happening around him.
 • Couch potato + cuddle king: He absolutely loves relaxing on the couch and soaking up snuggles.
 • Car-ride enthusiast: Hanging his head out the window is his absolute favorite.
 • Smart boy: He even knows how to give high-fives!
 • Treat lover: Strawberries and apples are his top snacks.
 • Mostly house-trained: He does excellent when foster is home—they have a great routine. When they leave, he’s crated with a diaper on just in case they’re gone longer than expected.
 • Crate trained: He loves his crate and happily naps or plays with his toys inside it.
 • TV buddy: The Sopranos is his comfort show—his fosters put it on for him when they’re out.
 • Play style: He plays a bit like a little football player—fun, goofy, and a bit rambunctious.
 • Kids & dogs: He doesn’t have experience with babies or small children, and he’d likely do best as the only dog in the home.
