We had a wonderful time celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day yesterday! 🌎🪶
Our incredible team, Karlette Miguel and Lupe Tabeling, represented our center beautifully at the Richey Resource Center in Old Pascua. We were so grateful for the opportunity to share valuable resources, support local families, and connect deeply with our amazing Tucson community.

The next course for the Tribal Courts & Justice Administration (TCJA) Program, Tribal Courts Practice & Procedure starts Wed. Oct 28, 2026.

The TCJA program provides a strong foundation in the workings of tribal courts and justice systems, preparing you for a wide range of tribal-justice related careers. The curriculum covers the foundations of Native American law and policy, with a focus on federal Indian law, tribal courts, tribal criminal law, and tribal family law - all taught by industry leading faculty in the field.

🌵 Community Connections at the College of Medicine – Tucson!

Our Wassaja team was grateful to be part of the College of Medicine – Tucson and Banner Health’s 2nd Annual Community Welcome at the University of Arizona! 💙

It was a great opportunity to connect with members of the university community, including undergraduate and graduate students, medical students, faculty, residents, and fellows.

We enjoyed sharing information about Wassaja and connecting with students and professionals who are passionate about health, community, and serving others. These opportunities to build relationships across the university help strengthen connections and create space for greater awareness of the communities we serve.

Thank you to all the families, children, community members, Tribal leaders, partners, vendors, speakers, performers, and volunteers who came together to honor the importance of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and the well-being of our children and families.

This event was more than a day of learning—it was an opportunity to connect, share resources, celebrate culture, and strengthen our commitment to keeping Native children connected to their families, communities, cultures, and Tribal Nations.

A special thank you to everyone who helped make this gathering possible and to those who showed up to support our children and families. Your presence, participation, and continued commitment to our community mean so much.
