Governor Katie Hobbs just signed (“Jerry’s Law”) into law — a major win for Arizona Pets!🧡

Before signing, SB1658 was nicknamed “Jerry’s Law” by Senator Shawnna Bolick, who sponsored the bill. Jerry is a survivor of a large-scale animal abuse case in Chandler that inspired the bill. It remains one of the most egregious cruelty cases our organization has ever encountered.

“Jerry’s Law” will save thousands of companion animal lives annually by enabling faster search warrants in extreme cruelty cases.

Thank you again to our group of steadfast animal advocates who were with us from the start. We’ve finally crossed the finish line and it’s time to celebrate!🎉

IMPORTANT PACC NEWS: PACC’s Animal Protection Services (APS) team assisted the Pima County Sheriff’s Department on a suspected cockfighting case on Monday, Nov. 4. The case resulted in the impound of 280 birds, which are now in PACC’s care. The chickens are not currently available for adoption and must be held in custody for the duration of the investigation.

“We are grateful to be able to help these animals get out of the situation they were in and find a better future,” said Monica Dangler, PACC's director. “However, with the addition of these birds on top of the pets that were already in our care, PACC is caring for 978 animals on site today. We urgently need our community’s help in finding homes for dogs and cats to decrease this load.”

Most of the animals on site - 570 - are dogs. That's 120 dogs more than what we consider "critical capacity." We NEED fosters and adopters for dogs immediately. All dogs and puppies are currently free to adopt at PACC, and now through Nov. 10, all dogs that weigh 40+ lbs. go home with a free crate and dog bed when adopted.

PACC is located at 4000 N Silverbell Road and is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from noon to 7 p.m., on Wednesday from 1:30 – 7 p.m., and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please come see us if you can help.
