📣 Request for Proposals: On-Call Website Administrator

Tucson’s UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy designation belongs to the whole community: farmers, home cooks, chefs, food businesses, and the traditions behind them. Our website is one of the main ways we share that work and connect people to it.

We’re looking for a reliable web professional (an individual or a firm) to provide on-call support. The work includes site updates, routine maintenance and security, event and program pages, and other digital needs as they come up.

Mérida participó en este encuentro realizado en Tucson, Arizona, donde, como Ciudad Creativa de la Gastronomía de la UNESCO, compartió la riqueza de la cocina yucateca y los conocimientos tradicionales vinculados al maíz.

La participación permitió fortalecer vínculos con ciudades como Tucson, San Antonio y Bérgamo, Italia, mediante actividades sobre conservación de semillas, biodiversidad, cocina de territorio y patrimonio alimentario

From Bergamo to Tucson. 🌽🇮🇹🌵

Earlier this month, Tucson City of Gastronomy Chef Ambassador Aris Cabrera represented Tucson at Pueblos del Maíz in Bergamo, Italy, sharing our Sonoran Desert food traditions and connecting with fellow UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy through a shared celebration of maíz.

Now, with Pueblos del Maíz underway here in Tucson, that exchange comes home.🌎🤍

Today, Chef Aris will take the stage at Pima Community College with Chef Angela Garcia to demonstrate the recipes they shared in other UNESCO Cities of Gastronomy’s Pueblos del Maíz. 🎉

🌽 Pueblos del Maíz is officially underway!

Thank you, Tucson Weekly, for highlighting the 5th annual Pueblos del Maíz Festival and the people, traditions, and stories that make this celebration so special.

Over four days, Tucson comes together with our sister UNESCO Cities of Gastronomy: Mérida, San Antonio, and Bergamo.

Five years of Pueblos del Maíz, and we’re just getting started! 🌽🌵

A beautiful evening of connection, hospitality, and cultural exchange as we welcomed our chefs and international delegations for Pueblos del Maíz. 🌽✨

Our Meet the Chefs Reception brought together our Chef Ambassadors, Certified Restaurants, and partners to kick off an exciting weekend celebrating the people, traditions, and flavors that connect our UNESCO Cities of Gastronomy.

A very special thank you to the Leo Kent, Chef Jonathan and the entire St. Cruz team for your incredible hospitality and partnership. We value you hosting this special gathering, and for also welcoming our visiting international delegations throughout their stay in Tucson. Your support has helped us create a true home base for connection and exchange during Pueblos del Maíz.

We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership and for such a warm welcome to Tucson. 🌵🌽

Close out the 5th annual Pueblos del Maíz with Noche de las Tres Hermanas, an intimate wrap-up dinner celebrating the foods, people, and traditions that have brought us together all weekend.🌽🍽️

This special evening brings together the Gastronomic Union of Tucson and our visiting chefs of Bergamo, Italy; of San Antonio, Texas; and of Mérida, Yucatán for a collaborative dinner inspired by the Three Sisters: corn, beans, and squash.
