We’re excited to bring two-day tournaments back to Tucson with the Desert Open & Scholastics, happening October 11–12, 2025 at the Tucson Woman’s Club!

Please show your support by playing in the event so we can continue to bring more great tournaments to Tucson!

-Two-day main event for rated players
-Two one-day scholastic sections (Saturday and Sunday) for younger players

Congratulations to SACA Director-at-Large FM Robz Adamson for proudly representing Arizona in the US Chess 2025 National Tournament of Senior State Champions, and tying for 3rd place!

Fun fact: Robby was also the co-champion of the Denker Tournament of High School Champions way back in 1988. 👏 That’s nearly four decades of Arizona chess excellence!

Does anyone have a throwback photo of Robby from the Denker days? We bet he still looks the same 😉
