🌊 Imagine spending a weekend by the New England coast moving, creating, and exploring dance from the inside out.

Mettler Studios' Weekend Retreat returns to the breathtaking Windhover Center for the Performing Arts in Rockport, Massachusetts this September. This year's theme: Visual Design and the Windhover Environment.

Led by Mary Ann Brehm, this immersive weekend retreat is for anyone who wants a deep, unhurried experience of Mettler-based creative dance improvisation -- whether you're brand new to this work or returning for more.

Here's what's included:

Friday evening, September 11 | 7:30 pm -Introduction, orientation, and movement
Saturday and Sunday, September 13 | 9 am to 3:30 pm

Two nights of lodging at Windhover are included in your registration fee. You'll arrive, settle in, and let the environment itself become part of the dance.

Cost: $240 | IACD members: $230

🌵🍂 Fall is coming and so is your next chance to move!

Mettler Studios' Saturday Morning Classes return this August to the Tucson Creative Dance Center, taught by Greg Colburn.

These monthly sessions are an open, accessible entry point into Mettler-based creative dance -- no experience necessary, just a willingness to explore movement as a creative art form.

The beautiful weather during our 2026 Mettler-based Teacher Training allowed us to dance outside of the Tucson Creative Dance Center. Here is a group dance with a mesquite tree that has been on the grounds since Barbara Mettler directed dancing in the “third acre”.

A few weeks ago, dancers from around the world gathered at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for the 2026 IACD Creative Dance Congress - "Looking Back, Moving Forward: Fearless Expression." This video is a glimpse into the legacy of Barbara Mettler.
