UPDATE 4-5-2025: We raised $6,225 dollars total. The check was sent to the Titan II Museum last week. The museum is working on getting the plaque made up and mounted. I will post pictures of the plaque once it is mounted at the museum. Thank all that donated!
UPDATE 3-2-24: Donations have slowed way down so I will be ending the Go-Fund-Me this next weekend sometime. If you wish to donate please do so before then. After the Go-Fund-Me is closed, I will be working with the Titan Missile Museum to donate the funds and get a plaque in place. I will update when it is complete.
Mike Pierce was a Cold War veteran who spent years working on Titan II ICBMs. Like so many other Cold War missileers, Mike was regularly exposed to highly toxic propellants and other hazardous materials. Long after he had hung up his uniform, he suffered from various cancers and other serious ailments as a direct result of his service. Mike Pierce has lost his battle with cancer on 10 February 2025. Mike Pierce was a friend and mentor to many of us. I am looking into a memorial plaque for Mike to be placed at the Titan Missile Museum. We need to raise $1,000 minimum donation to the Titan Museum to have memorial plaque placed in his honor. We hope to raise more. All funds less Go-Fund-Me fees will be going to the Titan Missile Museum.
UPDATE: The Go-Fund-Me has exceeded its original goal of $3,000. Go-Fund-Me has automatically raised the goal to $5,000. I want to thank those that have donated. I have discussed the plaque with the Titan Missile Museum, and we are a go!
