A CALL TO ACTION

In the wake of the tragic events last January in Tucson, President Obama issued a challenge to our country and our community “we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children’s expectations. And in the year that has passed, Tucson has risen to that challenge. it seems like more people than ever before are standing up and working to make our community better. Thousands of Tucsonans are stepping up to make our community, our country, and even our world, a better place. This is because we know that even in times of reflection and sorrow, our best hopes can be realized if we continue to work for change and look toward the future. This January 14th, at Armory Park in Downtown Tucson, we gather to celebrate the power of Service and Activism within us all, from those who are on the Front Line already, volunteering their time, voices and resources to work, to those looking to take their first steps toward working for change in our community. Stand Up Tucson (A Call To Action) is a concert, a festival, and a community celebration of volunteers, activists and those who want to become part of the work that will make Tucson a better place. Join us for music, food, celebration and a chance to learn about the ways YOU can make a difference in our community.

Benjamin Grant catalogs satellite images on his Instagram account called Daily Overview. Grant uses imagery taken from DigitalGlobe, a collection of earth-imaging satellites that provide data to services like Google Earth.

From July 31 through September 7, members of Congress are home for August recess--providing a on…

Last November 5, thousands of activists, progressive groups, and ordinary citizens moved over $50 million dollars out of the five largest corporate banks and back into local communities. By exercising our power as citizens and as consumers, we can end ”Too Big To Fail” once and for all!
