The GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship recognizes one outstanding Gold Award Girl Scout per council. GSSOAZ had 5 amazing eligible submissions, and Gigi Satalino was selected as the 2026 recipient. She was selected because her project exemplifies the core components of the Gold Award, and she demonstrated extraordinary leadership in driving lasting change in her community and beyond. 💫
Working with the Fire Service, the FAA, and other public-safety aviation units, Gigi designed and installed a helipad landing zone at the local fire department. Meeting all FAA guidelines, the underserved Arizona City now has access to much-needed urgent medical care. Gigi developed a website with instructions for undertaking a similar initiative in other communities, and her Instagram reels have generated 1000s of views. 🚁 Congratulations, Gigi!!
