From the hands-on life skills sessions to the laughter, connection, and care woven through every activity, it was more than just an event—it was a community coming together with purpose. Our volunteers left supported, inspired, and ready to keep making a difference in Girl Scouts' lives. 💚

Happy International Day of the Girl! 🌟 Every day, especially today, Girl Scouts speak out, break down barriers, and help create a brighter future worldwide. We support one another as we dream big, lead with courage, and make the world a better place. 🌎

We are highlighting honorary Girl Scout Eileen Gu, a remarkable role model for girls everywhere! She is an Olympic gold medalist in freestyle skiing, a talented student, and a passionate advocate for girls’ empowerment. Born in the United States to a Chinese mother, Eileen has broken barriers both on and off the slopes, showing the world what’s possible when you combine hard work, courage, and compassion. Eileen balances her athletic career with her studies at Stanford University and uses her platform to encourage girls to pursue their dreams—no matter how big they are. She’s been vocal about the importance of education, self-confidence, and supporting other girls, making her a true Girl Scout at heart! Let Eileen’s story inspire you and your family to take on new challenges, try new things, and believe in girls' power to change the world. 💚

This month, we hope you will join us in honoring amazing Girl Scouts who had the incredible opportunity to walk alongside community partners who took time out of their busy schedules to let these future changemakers do the same. 🤗

Becoming a Girl Scout means tapping into a supportive group of people who uplift you every step of the way. When it comes to caring for your mental wellness, the new Girl Scouts Mental Wellness patch program reminds you that you’re never alone in facing challenges and invites you to explore your emotions more deeply. You can do this by participating in activities, such as making art or writing poetry, that foster resilience and help you to better understand your world. No matter the season, never doubt your ability to rise up, and remember—you got this.

The HCA Healthcare Foundation made the Mental Wellness patch program possible, and we developed it in collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Today’s staff gathering came with a little extra learning… and a whole lot of puppy love! 🐾💚

Our Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona council team learned about the incredible foster program at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona—and some very persuasive puppies stopped by to help with the presentation. Yes, there were snuggles. And yes, a few members of our team are now becoming fosters! 🐶

HSSA foster families provide temporary, loving homes for animals who need time to grow, heal, or recover. HSSA provides the food, medications, and medical care; fosters provide the care, comfort, and a safe place to land.

As Girl Scouts, we believe in being friendly and helpful, caring for others, and making the world a better place. Sometimes that starts with opening your home to four little paws. 💚

Check out Leia, who stayed at Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i's Camp Piiholo through Girl Scouts Destinations! 🤩

(And yes, this can absolutely be you next year!! 🤗)

Leia explored Polynesian culture and participated in various cultural activities, including learning hula! She visited Haleakalā Ranch and Observatory to learn about the night sky and hike the beautiful Iao Valley. Leia also volunteered to help the communities impacted by the wildfires on Maui, gaining a better understanding of service to others and strengthening your understanding of Hawaiian culture. 🌺

In 1923, Juliette Gordon Low was diagnosed with cancer. She kept her illness largely private, choosing instead to continue devoting herself to the Girl Scout movement she had founded in 1912. Even while living with increasing pain, she remained active in her work and continued to champion opportunities for girls. In 1926, less than a year before her death, she hosted the World Camp in New York, bringing Girl Scouts and Girl Guides together from around the world.

Juliette Gordon Low died in the Andrew Low House, her Savannah home on January 17, 1927, after her long struggle with breast cancer. Her legacy, however, continues to live on through the countless lives touched by the organization she created.

This October, we honor Juliette Gordon Low and all those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. May her story continue to inspire courage, confidence, character, and hope. 🎀
