Honored to amplify this well‑deserved recognition of Angelica Loaiza, the NAWIC Tucson Chapter’s Camp NAWIC Chair and driving force of the event. We are proud that her dedication and initiative for taking on the feat of our chapter’s first ever Camp NAWIC event is not only recognized by NAWIC Tucson but BFL as well. Angelica’s passion for influencing young women, promoting the message of NAWIC, and encouraging involvement in construction and the community is making an impact.

👷‍♀️ Calling all Tucson parents!
Applications are now open for Camp NAWIC Tucson, a hands-on summer camp introducing young women to careers in construction and the skilled trades.

Campers will learn real building skills, meet industry professionals, and gain confidence while exploring career opportunities many students never get exposure to in school.

If you have a daughter or know a student who enjoys building, creating, or problem-solving, this could be an incredible opportunity for her future.

We had an amazing celebration at our April Membership meeting, as the NAWIC Tucson Chapter honored the top three students in this year’s local NEF Drafting & Design Competition. Congratulations to these talented young designers!

Thank you to the parents and family cheering them on, the judges who reviewed every drawing, our sponsors for their continued support of this event and our chapter, committee chair Becky Johnson for another year of leadership and mentorship, and the teachers who help shape these students’ futures. And thank you, Ryan Smith, PhD, professor and director at the University of Arizona’s School of Architecture for being a great guest speaker, giving students an idea of what their futures could hold at UA CAPLA!
