Join us on Saturday, 10/24 for Stories that Glow!, an afternoon of stories, poetry, and lantern-making.

Young people are invited to dream up stories and poems and decorate lanterns with their words and artwork. Families and community members can join in as we explore love, life, and remembrance together. Young writers can submit their work for consideration for the Procession of Little Angels, where selected stories will be brought to life in a performance by Stories that Soar! and selected poems will be shared in a poetry reading. The decorated lanterns will be carried in the All Souls Procession.

When: Saturday, October 24, 2026 · 1–3 PM
Where: University of Arizona Poetry Center at 1508 E. Helen St.

A collaboration of the University of Arizona Poetry Center, Literacy Connects, and Tucson End of Life Doulas. Held in conjunction with All Souls Procession weekend.

What a fantastic weekend at the Schools Out, Make It Count Conference with the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence! We had several of our teaching artists participate in professional development while also leading two workshops for fellow afterschool professionals.

A special congratulations to our very own Cecy Abarca, who was recognized as a finalist for the Out-of-School Professional Award!

Thank you AZ Case for a great day of learning, connection, and inspiration!
