Tickets are now available for the 2026 AIA Arizona Design Awards Gala on the evening of Saturday, November 14, at the Heard Museum in Phoenix! Get your tickets here: https://tinyurl.com/4k2k8ecp

Awards will recognize the many people and projects of AIA Arizona. This year, AIA Arizona will celebrate both an Arizona Medal honoree and a Firm of the Year, as well as AIA10, Associate, and Allied members. Design excellence will be recognized with many projects to be honored across multiple categories.

The opening reception with buffet and bar will be outdoors in the Heard Museum courtyard, the awards ceremony will be indoors in the museum’s Steele Auditorium, and a closing reception will include dessert and bar. Added bonus: the museum exhibitions will be open for all attendees to view!

The reception includes a bar, with one drink ticket per guest generously sponsored by Concrete Masonry Checkoff. Arcadia is the AIA Arizona Title Sponsor.

This major renovation of the former Gallagher Theater in the UofA Student Union Memorial Center (SUMC) transforms the space into a welcoming home for prospective students and their families as they begin their Wildcat journey. The center features a distinct entry from the SUMC Canyon, a 200-seat auditorium that serves as the starting point for daily tours, a welcoming lounge for pre- and post-tour gatherings, office space, and a flexible presentation area for larger high school tour groups.

Pima Community College’s mission to deliver workforce-responsive education opportunities led to the creation of the Center of Excellence for Applied Technology at its Downtown Tucson campus. The new Advanced Manufacturing Building, the centerpiece of the transformation. Conceived as a working model of 21st-century industry, the three-story, 95,000-square-foot Advanced Manufacturing Building integrates programs in Welding, Machining, Automated Industrial Technology, CAD Design, and Robotics.

NEXT WEEK: AIA Arizona Associate Members—take the next step toward licensure with our online ARE 5.0 Exam Prep Course focused on the Project Management exam. These virtual sessions offer a valuable opportunity to deepen your understanding of key exam topics while connecting with a community of peers who are on the same path. The course will be facilitated by Arizona-based architects via ZOOM over 6 sessions: Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – August 25; September 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.

The course registration fee is $50 for AIA Associate members and $100 for non-members.

Looking for a meaningful way to give back to our community? AIA Southern Arizona Women in Architecture and the Committee on the Environment (COTE) have coordinated a fun volunteer group activity on Saturday, September 26 at 8:00 AM. We’ll join Tucson Clean and Beautiful to help increase Tucson’s tree canopy, build stronger communities, and support Mayor Regina Romero’s Tucson Million Trees initiative.
