Dr. Johnny Chavez of Voices of Change and facilitators of the Sacred Traditions program provided a day-long community Sacred Traditions facilitator training at the Center for Gender & Racial Equity at the YWCA.

Founded by a team of Native American healers and advocates, Sacred Traditions began with a vision to revitalize spiritual connections and healing within indigenous communities.

Facilitators were trained on facilitating dialogue circles and the principles of the medicine wheel that can be utilized in all cultures.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of our dear friend and YWCA board member, Dawn McMillan. Dawn was a passionate advocate for equity, a believer in the healing power of the arts, and a light in every room she entered. Her infectious smile, compassionate spirit, and unwavering commitment to our mission touched so many lives.
Dawn faithfully served as Board Secretary and, until recently, President-Elect, leading with grace, wisdom, and heart. We will miss her dearly and will continue to honor her legacy through the work she cared so deeply about. May you now rest in peace and love, Dawn. You will forever remain in our hearts. 💜
