$500,000 Raised for Local Charities through
Jim Click Nissan LEAF Raffle
April 27, 2012 (Tucson, AZ) – On September 28, 2011, automotive dealer and banker Jim Click launched a seven-month fundraising program to support all charitable 501(c)(3) organizations across Southern Arizona, through the donation of a 2012 Nissan LEAF for a raffle drawing. Mr. Click distributed raffle tickets for eligible charities to sell, and the charities were able to keep 100 percent of the funds raised through ticket sales. Throughout the course of the program, more than 200 local charities participated in the raffle.
Earlier today, Click announced that the total amount of funds raised collectively among the participating charities was $491,000. He also announced that he would donate an additional $9,000 to charities to bring the total to $500,000. Mr. Click then asked Liz McCusker, executive director of Tu Nidito, to draw the winning ticket; he then placed a personal telephone call to Melessa Lee of Westlake Village California whose ticket he drew. The winning ticket was sold by Equine Encore Foundation and Lee will receive a 2012 all-electric Nissan LEAF (valued at $37,000), along with a home charging station donated by Eaton Corporation (valued at $3,500) and installation of the charging station donated by Interstates (valued at $1,200).
“This has been a great campaign for the Tucson community and I am overwhelmed at the record amount of funds raised for local charities,” Mr. Click stated. “We are so pleased to be able to give back to the community that has given so much to the Click family these past 40 years. I salute all of the charities who participated in this campaign and thank you, on behalf of the Click family and the Jim Click Automotive team, for all that you do,” he concluded.
