Her Strength and Determination Inspire Us -

In 2023, Esther arrived on foot at the US/Mexico border after travelling from her home in Congo Brazzaville to Brazil. Through a grueling process that put her at risk for deportation or detention every day, she was recently granted asylum.

Do you want to learn how to build soil and garden in the desert? If so, come join us for our first Sunday Funday in the Iskash*taa garden on Sunday August 30th from 8am to 11am. We will be turning our compost piles, fixing irrigation drip lines, and preparing garden beds for the winter growing season to help feed our refugee families.

We also have FREE compost and wood chips you can take home to get your garden growing as well. Go ahead and bring some buckets to load up compost and wood chips before you leave the Sunday Funday. Seriously, we have so much compost and wood chips. Please come and take some home.

We will also have our super delicious jams available for sale! Remember, you can always buy our exceptionally tasty jams via our IskaShop, direct link in bio. If you are one of our weekend volunteers please come to get trained on how to table and process jam sales.

We are located at 3736 E 2nd Street. The Iskash*taa garden is on the southwest side of St Mark’s Presbyterian Church. Call us at 520.440.0100 the day of, if you’re having a hard time finding us.
