Happy Friendship Day from Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority!

August is a special month for us. A time when we honor our founding, reflect on our shared history and celebrate the bonds that have shaped our sisterhood for generations. How fitting that Friendship Day arrives on the first Sunday of August.

To every sister, near and far, thank you for the laughter, the support, the service and the love you bring into our lives. Our Founders built Sigma Phi Gamma on the belief that friendship has the power to uplift communities and strengthen hearts. Today, we carry that legacy forward with pride.

May we continue to nurture the friendships that make our sorority extraordinary and may we always find new ways to share kindness, connection, and purpose with the world around us.

🌸 Happy Girlfriends Day! 🌸

Today we celebrate the women who lift us up, share our laughter, walk beside us, and make life richer simply by being part of it. In Sigma Phi Gamma, these “girlfriends” are our sisters, a bond that began on August 29, 1920, in Hartford City, Indiana. 💞

Thanks to our Five Life Founders, Phyllis, Edith, Ferne, Violet and Irene, the ideals of love and friendship have grown into a sisterhood that spans borders and generations. 🌍

As we begin our observance of Sigma Phi Gamma’s founding, we honor the everyday moments that become lifelong memories: advice over tea ☕, laughter during skits😄, celebrations of success 🎉, and comfort during life’s harder days 🤍.

Friendship is one of life’s greatest gifts. SPG sisters make each day brighter, stronger and beautifully complete. ✨ 💛✨

✨ Congratulations to our SPG Sisters Quilting for Service winner, Kaye Dennis of Alpha Iota Chapter! ✨

Thanks to the generosity of our sisters and supporters, $1,090.00 was raised through ticket sales for Do It For Daylen, a branch of Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer, our 2026–2027 International Sponsorship recipient.

We are grateful to photographer Jerry Hymer for allowing us to share his photo of Kay with her beautiful quilt.

Service, sisterhood, and love in action. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped to make a difference for families facing Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma.
