Our students recently experienced the full journey of hatching and learning about chickens, from tracking egg development, monitoring the incubator, researching the life cycle, and witnessing chicks hatch right before their eyes.

Moments like these remind us that the best learning happens when students can see it, touch it, question it, and connect to it in real life. 🐥📚

Today was a special moment in the story of TCDS as we officially unveiled the newly dedicated Richard & Susan Cooper Court!

Founder Richard Cooper and his wife, Susan, laid the foundation for a school built on the belief that all students are special and destined to succeed. Their vision, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment created a place that has impacted generations of students, families, and staff.

This court now stands as more than just a space for athletics and community gatherings. It is a lasting reminder of the heart, leadership, and legacy that helped shape Tucson Country Day School into what it is today.

Thank you, Richard and Susan, for dreaming boldly, serving faithfully, and building something that continues to change lives every single day.

Our 6th grade Champions are hard at work constructing a brand new citadel for our chickens and every student has a critical role to play. This isn’t just a project… it’s real-world learning in action.

👷 Foreman – leading the team, keeping the vision on track
📐 Engineer – designing, problem-solving, making it all work
🌱 Landscaper – shaping the environment around the build
📏 Surveyor – measuring, mapping, and ensuring precision
🎤 Docent – telling the story, guiding others through the work

No passengers. Everyone contributes. Everyone matters.

This is what happens when learning steps outside the classroom: collaboration, agency, and purpose come to life.
