🐾 There are so many great dogs waiting to be noticed. Could one of them be your next best friend?

Pima Animal Care Center currently has 500+ dogs. Some are outgoing and playful, others are goofy couch potatoes, and many are simply hoping someone will stop by and see what makes them special.💙

You don't have to wait for the perfect pup to show up on your feed. Come meet the dogs in person! 🐶

🏡 Can't adopt right now? Fostering can make a difference, too! Opening your home to a dog temporarily helps free up much-needed space at the shelter, reduces kennel crowding and stress, and gives a dog a chance to relax. 🐾

🚨 Dogs on the census deadline urgently need foster or adoptive homes. If you're able to open your home to one of these dogs, please reach out to PACC as soon as possible to learn about available options.

Every adoption and foster placement helps create space and gives another pet an opportunity for care.

Stories like Tulip’s remind us why supporting pets in need matters.

Pets can play an important role in our mental health, offering companionship, routine, and connection. 🐾

Pets can bring so much joy to our lives. They offer companionship on difficult days, encourage us to get outside and stay active, and remind us that even the smallest moments of connection can make a difference.

For shelter pets, finding a loving home can mean gaining that same sense of safety and belonging.

This World Mental Health Day, we’re celebrating the special bond between people and their pets and the ways animals can bring more love into our lives.

Friends of PACC supports Pima Animal Care Center by helping provide lifesaving resources, programs, and support that give more pets the opportunity to find loving homes. 💙🐾

Pets can make a meaningful difference in our lives, and helping them find loving homes gives more people the opportunity to experience that bond.

Friends of PACC is more than fundraising.

We're here to help make more possible for pets, Pima Animal Care Center, and our community.

Here's what that looks like:

🐾 Supporting PACC pets with resources that improve their care and well-being.

🏥 Helping provide lifesaving medical care for pets who arrive sick, injured, or in need of additional treatment.

💙 Supporting programs and resources that help PACC care for the pets who come through its doors.

🏠 Creating more adoption opportunities to help pets connect with the people who will take them home.

🤝 Bringing the community together through events, partnerships, outreach, and campaigns.

🏢 Helping create new resources and opportunities, including projects like EPAC and the Friends Pet Clinic.

Every one of these efforts has the same goal:

Help more pets find care, hope, and loving homes. And every one of them is made stronger by the support of our community.

That's what Friends of PACC does. 💙🐾

📅 And if you're looking for a way to support our work, our 2027 Friends of PACC Pet Calendar is available now!

This past Saturday, Dr. Nellie Goetz and Dr. Matthew Goetz, along with students from UAZ College of Veterinary Medicine, held the college’s first-ever Saturday spay/neuter clinic at Pima Animal Care Center, helping provide much-needed support with both triage and surgery.

The students performed 30 spays and neuters on PACC dogs, while also conducting pre-surgical exams and gaining hands-on experience with intubation and placing IV catheters.

We’re grateful to Drs. Goetz and Goetz, the UA College of Veterinary Medicine faculty, and the students for sharing their time, knowledge, and skills with PACC. Partnerships like this make a meaningful difference for shelter pets while helping prepare the next generation of veterinary professionals. 💙🐾

💙🐾 Meet Julius—one of PACC’s very special Underdogs!

This month, Tucson Subaru is helping us celebrate senior and medical pups as we highlight our underdogs—giving special dogs like Julius a chance to be seen, loved, and remembered.

Julius has already been through more than any dog should have to endure. He arrived at Pima Animal Care Center just a few days ago with a pelvic fracture and in need of emergency surgery to remove one of his eyes. Despite everything he’s been through, Julius is already showing us what a sweet and resilient boy he is.

His friends in the PACC Clinic take him outside for fresh air. He enjoys his short walks. He soaks up every bit of attention he receives. And for those moments, he gets to be a dog.

But we’d love to give Julius something more.

❤️ Julius needs a foster home.

He needs a quiet place to rest, a soft spot to land, and someone who will give him the time and patience to heal and show the world who he really is. A foster home could be the bridge between the shelter and the forever family we know is out there for him.

And remember: When you foster for PACC, we provide the medical care—you provide the love.

Please consider fostering Julius—or one of his fellow Underdogs at PACC. You could be the person who changes everything for a dog who has already been through so much.

A big thank you to Tucson Subaru for helping us support and care for our senior pets in need of second chances.

🐾❤️ Happy National Animal Day! And what better way to celebrate than by helping a shelter pet like Ramen? 🐶

Ramen came to Pima Animal Care Center severely matted, so he needed a haircut right away. We did our best with what we had at the shelter, and while it may not be his most flattering look, Ramen doesn’t seem to mind one bit!

This sweet boy has been getting along well with other dogs and is currently being treated for Valley Fever.

Now, Ramen needs a little help from the community! We’re looking for a short-term foster home for Ramen for a couple of weeks so he can relax, enjoy time in a home, and show us more of his personality. His foster can also help us get photos and videos so we can better market him to potential adopters.

Interested in fostering Ramen or another dog at PACC? Stop by PACC on Silverbell and ask about the foster program!

When you foster for PACC, the medical care is provided—you provide the love.

Nala came to Pima Animal Care Center after being hit by a car and suffering some pretty severe injuries. While she continues to heal in the clinic, one of her volunteers wanted to give her a little time outside to soak up some sunshine. ☀️💙🐾

Despite everything she’s been through, Nala continues to show just how sweet and loving she is. She’s one strong girl, working hard to get better every single day.

Supporting Friends of PACC helps provide lifesaving resources for pets like Nala, including on-site medical support at PACC, community veterinary care, food and supplies, and spay/neuter services for pets and families throughout Pima County.💙🐾
