We recently sent 103 dresses/skirts and 20 Flat Stellas to Kenya with His Presence Church here in Tucson. I received these messages and wonderful photos from Sandra:

“Look at some of the kiddos that were blessed …giving out the clothes, we were able to bless 3 different communities. 😁🙏🏽♥️
What a blessing it was to bless them. Thank you for making this happen. ♥️🙏🏽🙌🏼.

There were a few that didn’t get pics because we sent some mothers with 1-2 items for their other children at home. But all were so grateful to receive. We sang & they said thank you America. 😊🙏🏽♥️

All the girls with me in the photos got dresses too. Their parents grabbed them & wanted them to wear later time plus we were doing a quick visit so no time to have them put it on for photo.

Beautiful kind people that blessed us with the little they had, open up their homes with so much pride & humility. Was such beautiful mission works for God Glory. 🙏🏽♥️”

She didn’t know if we wanted the photos of the individual girls. We told her we wanted every single one! ❤️👗

It looks like I got very distracted and forgot to share these photos from a few months ago. I received this from Rene, who also recently shared photos of dresses given out at a dental clinic.

“Here’s an update of some of the dresses that were given away in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. The dresses (skirts) ended up going to some ladies, since 12yrs don’t like wearing dresses 👗. The little girls loved the dresses! “

The name of the group is Elijah’s Project, a non-profit Christian organization based in Yuma. He said the teenagers want to wear pants, so he shared the skirts with the ladies. That works! He also included photos of the animals undergoing procedures, but I hesitated to share lest anyone is squeamish! They were great photos though!

Thanks Rene and Elijah’s Project! We look forward to connecting with you again soon as you do essential work in Mexico!

I just received these photos from Rene. He lives in Yuma and coordinates outreaches in Mexico. A few months ago he took dresses on a veterinary outreach. This past weekend there was a dental outreach in the outskirts of Mexicali. They have an 8.5’X24’ enclosed trailer with 3 full dental chairs.
I love that they can coordinate Dress a Girl with other needed outreaches!

After Joyce, our sweet and very productive Flat Stella maker, went to be with the Lord last summer we have not been able to provide the often requested pocket dolls. Thankfully our own Faith has stepped up and is enjoying creating Stellas. Also Cyndi in CA just sent me 27 Stellas. She sent me some several years ago as well. Thank you Faith and Cyndi! I will now be able to include a limited number with some dress distributions. I love seeing the creativity - from bows to buttons to rick rack and lace. Cyndi uses buttons for eyes and embroiders the mouths on some. Faith prefers to draw the faces on with a fabric pen (a Pigma pen is a great option).
If you’d like to try your hand at making Stellas, the original instructions are on the dressagirlaroundtheworld.com website. We have made some changes which may expedite the process (drawing on the facial features, simply ironing in 1/4” on the arms and legs instead of having to turn them, for a few). If you’d like me to email instructions to you or have questions, please email [email protected].

Recap of Dress a Girl Tucson 2025:
We sent out 5401 dresses, 303 skirts and 170 Flat Stella dolls.
They were sent to Cameroon, Chad, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia and to many other countries in Operation Christmas Child boxes.
So many people are involved in blessing the little ones around the world- from those who sew to those who go! To all who have been involved, from lovingly making the kits and sewing the dresses while praying for the ones who will receive them, those who encourage us with your prayers, financial support, donations of fabric and supplies, go on trips making space in your suitcases for these treasures and place the dresses on the girls - we thank you all for helping us to bless others.

We have had some farewells this year:
Sandy Moore has led the large group at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene since 2017 and has stepped down from that position. Through her vision and fantastic organizational skills, thousands of dresses have been distributed and an annual Sew-a-Thon takes place. I will miss her friendship and the parking lot meet ups for dresses, but I know she is just a phone call away. I look forward to working with Patty and the 5 other ladies it took to replace her! Sandy is a gem! Well done!
Our sweet Flat Stella maker Joyce went to be with the Lord last summer after making thousands of dolls the past years. We miss her.

We currently have hundreds of dresses and skirts ready to go! If you or anyone you know of is going on a trip and is able to take dresses, please contact me at [email protected].

These girls love their dresses! They were sent to families of leprosy affected children in Bahar, India. This was a special request as we usually send the basic sundress with the bias tape ties. This group requested dresses with sleeves, so we sent peasant dresses with Brenda and her team. It’s taken a while for them to be distributed and to receive photos back, but what a lovely Christmas gift for our seamstresses to see them on the girls.

This news just received from Sammy:

“Greetings from Banyo, Cameroon…The
Lord has been working in some mighty ways and we've seen 14 villages reached with the gospel this year, so we're praising God for that.

One of the packages that I sent to a family of our church planters, which contained several of your dresses along with some other items, got stolen along the way. So we were disappointed about that. However, I do have a few more pictures I can share with you.

Some of the people here are very shy about having their pictures taken, but we do want the ladies there to know that their dresses were very well received and are greatly appreciated by the girls who've received them.”

While sad to hear that some of the dresses were stolen, we know that they are in Cameroon and hopefully, somehow, were received by, and a blessing to, a little girl who needed a dress.

These dresses were taken to Cameroon in August by a mission team from Wisconsin.

Brenda shared a few more photos of children from the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. Bless their hearts, and so many thanks to those who travel to share with these precious ones.

There are 272 displaced orphans in Kisumu, Kenya and they were so so happy to get dresses. Additional photo in comments. These are also shared from Brenda.
