Tucson Youth Orienteering Program is a 6-week after-school program for kids aged 9 and above to learn and improve orienteering skills in a fun and accessible manner. The program is open to all skill and experience levels, including kids who are new to orienteering and those who have prior experience.

Orienteering is a treasure hunt-like sport that combines fitness and agility, navigation skills, and teamwork into a fun outdoor adventure. This program will teach spatial awareness through map reading and navigation with the use of active games and exploration; problem solving through hands-on learning opportunities; and cooperative learning through teamwork. Goals of the program include improved map and compass skills, increased fitness, and appreciation of our local desert and parks. Expect to run and hike, exercise your mind and body, and discover new places all around Tucson with other outdoor-loving kids.

πŸŒŒπŸš€When orienteerers navigate as teams...sometimes the Dark Side comes out.
May 4th Cellphone-O
One team member stays at the start with a map, the other just follow their directions to find the controls. Finish your map and then the roles swap!
