Our guest speaker for this week’s meeting will be Terri Alexon, who serves as the Investor Education Coordinator for the Arizona Corporation Commission's Securities Division. She is a two-time graduate of Arizona State University with degrees in business and communication. Since joining the Commission in August of 2002, Terri has been actively making statewide presentations on wise investing and fraud prevention. She has served on multiple task forces, including the North American Securities Administrators Association’s social media, senior and youth investor education task forces, as well as the financial exploitation prevention committee Co-Chair of the Maricopa Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance, Area Agency on Aging.
In her brief program, Terri will focus on what the Securities Division does to protect investors, the common investment scams prevalent in Arizona, and how to reduce the possibility of falling victim to an investment fraudster
