Food for the Good was conceived by Kathy Wood in the Spring of 2012, inspired by Brazil’s Fome Zero(Zero Hunger) program under the premise that access to fresh and healthy food is a basic human right. FFTG, currently working as The Lunch Posse, has been working with The Primavera Foundation since May of 2012 providing sack lunches for their Works program. The foundation of FFTG is the concept tha
t everyone deserves to have access to fresh made, healthy and balanced meals. This is achieved through a couple of aspects; the community café, Good Food, where customers can chose to dine-in and enjoy a low-cost nutritious meal, or buy a pre-prepared frozen meal to take home; the educational kitchen, Kitchen Goods, where anybody can come in and work with staff in preparing their own healthy meals.; and the training kitchen, Good Works, where clients work for the café and are in turn given career training in the food service industry
Food for the Good will provide the following:
1. Good Food-fresh and healthy food on a pay what you can menu.
2. Kitchen Goods educational kitchen
3. Good Works training kitchen
