Great day at the Old Pueblo Playwrights' New Play Festival yesterday in Tucson: a wonderful matinee of comic and not- so-comic shorts followed by an evening performance of John Vornholt's The Chemo Lounge, a surprisingly funny and engaging drama inspired by his own experiences. (Go see Aidan Corey's Don't Feed the Trolls, tonight!) In between, enjoyed great food & service at Batey's Puerto Rican restaurant with my tennis partner and new playdate mate, Carolyn.

Never mind the basketball - at 7pm tonight, John Vornholt's, The Chemo Lounge, debuts at the INVISIBLE THEATRE.

The Infusion Center of a cancer clinic is where people of all ages and all walks of life meet for hours everyday, often sharing a bit too much about the demons, dangers, and decisions they face. Whoever they are in the outside world, they are equals, fighting the same war, in the Chemo Lounge.

No reservations. Pay what you will at the door.

Our New Play Festival this year is a 'pay what you will' event, which means, yes, you could watch all of our fantastic plays for nothing.
However, OPP is a small, humble non-profit and we respectfully request our audience to consider a small donation either before or after each performance - they are our lifeline. Thanks in advance.
