TOMORROW, June 20: FREE microchip & vaccine event at Pima Animal Care Center!

📍 4000 N. Silverbell Rd.
⏰ 7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
🚗 Parking opens at 6:00 a.m. Please do not arrive before then.
🐶🐱 First 250 pets | Pima County residents only

Services include:
• FREE microchips
• DHPP vaccines for dogs
• FRCP vaccines for cats
• FREE custom pet ID tags

Please note:
• Not a wellness clinic.
• No rabies vaccines.
• Dogs must be leashed, cats in carriers.
• Please be prepared to stand for extended periods. Bring water and dress for the weather. Water available for pets only.

We also want to thank the community members who are taking the time to vaccinate their pets against preventable diseases such as distemper and parvovirus. By protecting your own pets, you're helping protect vulnerable animals throughout Pima County and supporting the health and safety of pets entering PACC.

For those with concerns about visiting PACC, the vaccine clinic is being held in a separate, fully disinfected public space that does not house shelter animals. Community pets attending the event will not have contact with animals at PACC.

With distemper cases currently being identified in our community, there has never been a better time to make sure your pets are vaccinated and protected.

🐾 In case you haven't heard, PACC is temporarily closed to the public while staff work to contain and manage infectious diseases within the shelter, including canine distemper and respiratory infections affecting dogs across Pima County. Effective yesterday, the shelter is limiting intake through at least July 2 to only those animals that pose a risk to public safety or require emergency care. In addition, adoptions have been temporarily paused until animals can be confirmed disease-free and safe to leave the shelter. 🐾

To help dogs like Bubba A902985 (who's deadlined and we are pulling for an adopter!), we are teaming up with A Loyal Companion to collect enrichment toys and treats to help the PACC dogs pass the time in their kennels.

Please drop off any donations to A Loyal Companion at 4758 E Grant Road, from 9-4. A Loyal Companion will also have a table to make rope toys for the dogs, starting on Friday from 10-4.

Let's come together and help these amazing dogs while they patiently wait for clearance at PACC 🩷

TUCSON FOSTER NEEDED
Lucy is a very loving, friendly Pug that is 6 years old. She has suffered a severe tail pull injury and has a damaged Sacral nerve at the base of her tail. She has no feeling whatsoever on the right side of her bottom, no muscle control and tends to potty whenever he needs to. She is unable to wear diapers because the bacteria of the f***l is causing her to get UTIs frequently.
We had a CT scan and was referred to a Neurologist where she was seen last Friday. Dr. Greatting said she was not comfortable requesting an MRI to see extent of damage due to the area of injury.
She is quite confident that surgery would not fix the problem as it is to severe of an injury. Based on her experience the best thing for Lucy would be to find a place where she can live her best life and be taken care of. She will also need her bladder expressed periodically and she has an unusually small bladder at that.
