Girlhood isn't a waiting room for adulthood. 🩷

She's not a future leader. She's already building. So, we don't set the agenda and ask girls to fit it. We ask what they need, trust their answers, and pay youth leaders for the work they're already doing.

Last chance to register - we want you on the call!

Join WFSA and Instituto for Community Conversation: Defining Capacity Building, a virtual, interactive discussion for nonprofit and community partners working alongside, or as part of, organizations serving Black, Indigenous, women and girls of color, and gender-expansive people across Arizona.

This is a space to share what's working, name what's hard, and help shape what comes next. What we hear will directly inform WFSA's upcoming capacity-building cohort, part of a new dual-investment model pairing grant funding with real, co-created support, plus future offerings for the broader nonprofit community.

No prep needed. Just bring your experience and your voice.

Yesterday we asked you to picture a girl or nonbinary young person you admire and acknowledge her strengths and who she is today.

Here's what came back.

"Today, she's the one who translates for her mom at every appointment." "Today, she's the reason her little brother made it to school on time this year." "Today, she's already running the group project, the fundraiser, and half the household."

None of these are "someday" sentences. They're right-now sentences. She isn't a project we're building. She's already the expert on her own life, and on Arizona's future. Our job is to back that up.

October 11 is International Day of the Girl, and we're inviting you to truly see her and who she is now. She's brave and bold. She speaks up for fairness at home and school. She's taking care of her siblings and community.

She doesn't need to become anything to matter. She matters right now, exactly as she is. This October, fund her as she is.
