Our hearts are with the Ramirez family following the heartbreaking loss of 23-year-old Tucson Police Department recruit Carlos Ramirez on August 19, 2026. Carlos was just days away from graduating from the police academy and beginning a career dedicated to serving our community. His fiancée, Aaliyah, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department Corrections Officer, was also injured and is recovering. Their unborn child is safe, but their family is now facing an unimaginable loss.

As a community, we want to surround the Ramirez family with the same care and support that public safety families so often give to others. We invite you to join us in helping ease the financial burdens they are facing during this incredibly difficult time. We are so grateful to the wonderful team from RISE for helping make the sensory room at our 3rd Annual Youth Wellness Retreat such a meaningful experience for our teens.

If you or a woman you know has been impacted by abuse, this upcoming Christian-based Mending the Soul (MTS) Healing Group for Women may be a meaningful opportunity for support and healing. This 14-week virtual group provides a safe, confidential, and nurturing community for Arizona women who have experienced abuse, including physical, sexual, emotional, verbal, spiritual abuse, or neglect.
