Tonight, we had the privilege of showing our Moon 🌙, the planet Jupiter and the amazing sun 🌞 to local youth and their families at Civano Community School K-8 STEM night event. It was AWE-some 👩‍🚀🔭

Hey everyone! We are hosting a stargazing, art and cosmic party tonight, but we're going to be starting a bit late.
Our equipment delivery is running behind, but we will be there at Gabe Zimmerman trailhead! You are all welcome to come out after 5PM, but everything won't be completely set up until around 6PM.

We appreciate your understanding and we'll see you out there under the stars for our end of year Space Party!

WOW, what a stellar night! On Saturday, September 13th, our nonprofit Reach for the Stars turned Sierra Morado (East Tucson, just off Houghton) into a cosmic show! We rolled out our beastly 20" telescope, monster binoculars, two more scopes for good measure, and a TV planetarium that had everyone ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the universe. Well over 300 of you—parents, kids, and even some sneaky mosquitoes—came out to gaze at Saturn’s rings and munch on snacks under the Arizona skies. We even gave a Celestron telescope kit away to a lucky family!

Huge shoutout to our event rockstar Katie Wright, all of the awesome volunteers and the Sierra Morado Events Comittee for making this free stargazing bash happen! Thanks to the sales and your generous donations, we raised $514 to keep our mission soaring, helping youth and families discover the wonders of space while uplifting mental wellness. Missed it? Don’t worry, we’re already planning the next one! Follow us here or check out www.rftstars.com to subscribe for our monthly events announcments, or sign-up your youth for our workshops. Let’s keep chasing stars together!

Check out one of the coolest photos we've ever posted!

This is a REAL image of our nonprofit Astronomy & STEM class youth and their teacher, Carlos Aragon, displayed on a small screen riding a satilite IN SPACE!! We gave the satilite our coordinates, and asked it to take an image of our picture with the Earth in the background, specifically over Tucson! WHAT?!

How incredible is this picture?! Huge shout-out to CrunchLabs and our wonderful donors for helping our little mission make this possible. The kids will never forget this, and we hope to do it again. Vail School District

Hey Tucson! We invite you to plan ahead for July 29-30, 2025, when the Delta Aquariid, Alpha Capricornid, early Perseid meteor showers combine for a dazzling 25-40 meteors/hour (1 every 1-2 min)! At Reach for the Stars, we promote stargazing which sparks awe and helps mental wellness, so prepare to be inspired! Mark your calendars, grab a blanket and find a dark spot away from city lights for a night of wonder!
