Please meet Bruno. Whether you have a soft spot for German Shepherds or not, you’re absolutely going to adore this charming guy. He arrived at PACC when he was saved by a kind person, and he was so well-behaved, easy-going and friendly he was instantly fast-tracked.
This sweet teddy bear is a calm, mild-mannered, tolerant, quiet old man who has a real appreciation for people with these same qualities. Volunteers say he has just the right type of personality - he craves attention and affection but he also has a nice independent side too. He’s always so happy and receptive whenever anyone stops by to visit with him – his tail always starts to wag and he’s instantly your friend. He’s simple to leash up and always eager to get out for relaxing walks and exploring. And he has a good mix of energy – he’s quite spunky for an older guy but he’s also great at lounging around. We’ve also found he has an enormous fondness for treats and he’ll gladly demonstrate his skill of sitting for them.
Bruno arrived at the shelter with some wounds and damage to one of his eyes. In addition to being treated for these injuries, he has some significant arthritis in his back legs and hips which cause him to be somewhat tender. Due to these issues, he’s slightly vulnerable so he has not met other dogs in play group yet but he is sharing a kennel with another young female dog and gets along well. As with all shelter dogs, it’s recommended he meet resident dogs prior to going home to make sure it’s a good match.
The ideal home for Bruno would be one with a kind, caring family where no one expects him to do too much. He’d like a few leisurely walks, some good meals, plenty of couch time, lots and lots of snacks and, of course, someone who will completely dote on him. Please don’t let this good boy spend his golden years living in a shelter - he deserves to be in a stable home and be someone’s forever best friend and loving companion.
