Currently at over 350 local members, our league registers voters, hosts voter education programs and candidate forums, tracks state legislation, observes local government meetings, and advocates for our issues, including voting rights, racial justice, education, and more. The League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson is pleased to announce that we have officially changed our name to the League of Women Voters of Southern Arizona.

This important milestone reflects the growth of our League and our commitment to serving communities throughout southern Arizona while honoring our long history in Tucson. Our new name better represents the scope of our work today and our vision for the future.

While our name has changed, our mission remains the same. We are dedicated to Empowering Voters and Defending Democracy through nonpartisan voter education, advocacy, and civic engagement. We will continue to provide trusted election information, encourage informed participation in government, and advocate for policies that strengthen our democratic institutions.

As the League of Women Voters of Southern Arizona, we look forward to expanding our reach, strengthening civic engagement, and serving even more communities throughout our region.

WIN !! A federal court today issued a preliminary injunction blocking the US Postal Service from implementing President Trump's 2026 executive order restricting mail voting. Swipe through for our statement.

The suit was filed by LWV of Massachusetts, LWVUS, Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO), US Vote Foundation, OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates (OCA), and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

We are represented by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), ACLU of Massachusetts, Brennan Center for Justice, Legal Defense Fund (LDF), Asian Americans Advancing Justice (Advancing Justice-AAJC), and LatinoJustice PRLDEF.
