At just 12 years old, Justin experienced a traumatic attack that left him with severe dental injuries and years of physical and emotional pain. In the years that followed, he faced homelessness, neglect, and time in foster care, making the dental reconstruction he desperately needed impossible to afford.

After an extensive search for help, Watermark for Kids stepped in to cover the cost of Justin’s surgery, giving him the opportunity to finally heal without sacrificing his financial stability.

Today, Justin is thriving as an author and entrepreneur, and his story is a powerful reminder of how life-changing compassionate support can be.

We are honored to have been part of Justin’s journey. 💙

We are thrilled to celebrate The Watermark at Bellevue team for earning the Watermark for Kids Award at the Spring Summit! 👏

In just six months, associates and residents at Bellevue came together to raise over $12,000 for Watermark for Kids—more than double the previous record for any single community in a year. Their creativity, teamwork, and passion have truly set a new standard.

From imaginative fundraising events to heartfelt donations, every department played a part in this extraordinary achievement. Your dedication and generosity are empowering children to pursue their dreams, and the impact of your efforts will be felt far beyond Bellevue.

Congratulations to the entire Bellevue team! Thank you for making a difference and inspiring us all. 💙

At just 8 years old, Xavier was living with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS), a severe form of epilepsy, and low-functioning autism. Over the years, his parents took him to countless neurologists searching for ways to reduce his seizures, but very little helped—until they discovered light therapy.

“In just two months of therapy, Xavier began speaking, stopped wetting the bed at night, and had a significant decrease in seizures,” said Monica, Xavier’s mother. Unfortunately, Xavier had to stop this life-changing treatment due to cost.

That’s when the Community Life Director at the local senior living community, The Watermark at Vistawilla stepped up to help.

“I approached her one day and said, ‘You know, we have this charity, Watermark for Kids. Maybe there’s something you need that we could help with,’” said the then Community Life Director. “After talking with Monica, we thought the laser was something that would really be impactful for their family.”

Xavier was named a Watermark Kid and received a ShedLight laser to use at home.

“Having this laser at home will be life-changing for him. It will give him the opportunity to benefit from this therapy daily and have a better life,” said Sanchez. “Our hope is that it will allow him to attend school, as well as participate in everyday activities such as going to the park or riding an adaptive bike.”

We love receiving heartfelt letters from the amazing kids we support! Watermark for Kids recently helped Olivia attend a cooking camp, where her love for cooking truly blossomed.

Here’s what Olivia shared with us:

"Hi!! I would like to thank you for providing the money to let me go to cooking camp. I had so much fun, and made so many yummy treats. I like to cook and this camp was the perfect time to make delicious food and get some new friends. I learned lots of new skills, and would like to continue cooking and learn new things. Thank you so so so so so so so so so so much!!"

Stories like Olivia’s remind us why we do what we do—empowering young dreams and creating opportunities for kids to shine. 🌟

Stephen’s love for sports never wavered, even after losing both legs below the knee at age two.

Growing up in Phoenix in a sports-loving family, he found his passion in wheelchair basketball during high school and was instantly hooked. When an opportunity to join the University of Arizona’s wheelchair basketball team came his way, one major obstacle stood in his path: he didn’t have the specialized sports wheelchair he needed to compete.

That’s where Watermark for Kids stepped in.

By funding Stephen’s custom sports wheelchair, Watermark for Kids helped turn a potential roadblock into a life-changing opportunity—allowing him to attend college and pursue his dream on the court.

Because every child deserves the chance to play, compete, and thrive.
