In case you need more canine science to carry you over to our 2028 meeting!

Introducing “Canine Science: an interdisciplinary look at our best friend.” A textbook designed after the organizational principles of the Canine Science Society. That is, supporting canine science from a multi-discipline and multi-species approach. This textbook is written with informed lay people and undergraduates in mind, but can easily be used for graduate-level classes as well.

Drs. Silvan Urfer (chair of board of directors for the Canine Science Society) and Ana G. Jimenez (vice-chair of board of directors) served as editors for this textbook. And, many, many of our colleagues in attendance at this year’s conference served as co-authors. We are all proud and excited to see this textbook come to life and hope that you all will enjoy it as well!

Forthcoming late summer 2026!

Third and final day of Canine Science Conference 2026! We heard from our last keynote speaker Dr. Ana G. Jimenez (who is currently running the social media for the conference and just had a really weird moment referring to herself in the third person 😂). Additionally, we heard super interesting talks about Stress (session 8 ) and Behavioral Developmental and Trauma (Session 9).

Thank you all for coming and sharing your work! Safe travels home and we will see you in Nebraska in 2028!

We had a most excellent line up of speakers today. Starting with our first keynote from Dr. Candance Croney. We then moved on to one morning session of oral talks and two afternoon sessions of oral talks. Session 1 included Health and Welfare talks. Session 2 included Applied Canine Research talks and Session 3 included Dogs and Humans talks. Great talks today, everyone!
