The City Manager got a significant pay increase, while many employees at the City of Tucson struggle to make ends meet. Several employees who do critical jobs at the Police Department are not compensated competitively for their job classifications. Our Crime Scene techs are some of the lowest paid and TPD struggles to keep them. Many leave for other agencies or jobs that pay better. TPD is understaffed with Officers and the raises they received, which are spread over several years, were far less than what Tim Thomure is getting.

The City of Tucson switched from Cigna to Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) for health insurance. Due to this switch there was a delay in processing claims and employees started receiving bills from their health care providers that were higher than normal. The City just finalized coverage with BCBS and started processing claims. Hope this helps explain why employees were receiving higher than expected bills from their providers.

Thanks TFD for the work you do and remembering this terrible incident. The shooter targeted his family, neighbors, and then ambushed first responders. We should all take time to reflect on the lives lost that day and the impact this incident had on the people who responded to help.

Mayor Romero uses the recent tragedy in Tucson to attack an inanimate object and simultaneously ignore the local crime problems in her City. A gun is harmless, but when it is put in the hands of a criminal it becomes a dangerous weapon. This violent incident was stopped by law enforcement, who immediately transitioned to providing life saving measures to the numerous victims. This incident tied up law enforcement throughout the region and strained a Police Department that is critically staffed. Thank you to all of our local public safety professionals that do amazing work in a dangerous City.

This article is very informative, it assesses Tucson's economy and compares it to Phoenix. The local leadership has been playing the blame game for far too long and refuses to take responsibility for their own decisions, which negatively impact our local economy. The report shows that Tucson, while they prioritize Government spending, manages to spend much less on Police and Fire services compared to other places. It also highlights the crime rate and homelessness, which is much higher than other places. Please read and share this information, it is important and shows why Tucson is continuing to fail.

🚨SHERIFF NANOS FOUND RESPONSIBLE FOR VIOLATING ETHICS AND CODES OF CONDUCT🚨

Independent counsel hired by Pima County to investigate retired Lt. Lappin complaint found Nanos and four of his commanders also responsible.

As the agency head, Nanos gets to decide his own discipline and discipline for the other commanders.

He should resign and the next sheriff should clean house. This is the only way to salvage our agency.
