All expenses are covered by Ahava and we are totally funded by p

ublic donations. "Ahava" is a Hebrew name meaning love. The word Love has many different translations. The Greeks used the word "Agape" which translated means "Selfless Universal Love", or "Self-Sacrificial and Intentional Love". This is the type of love that our Veterans, Active-Duty Military, and First Responders have and continue to show every day through the sacrifices they make in service to their country and community. Thomas Aquinas later expanded the definition to mean "to will the good of another." This idea "to will the good of another" is unconditional and bigger than ourselves. ​

At Ahava, our translation of love means to have boundless compassion and infinite empathy which we extend to everyone in our program, their families, and our community that we serve. This love influences the way our organization runs and is the primary driving force behind our holistic approach to Therapy. As Ahava's President/CEO, it is my personal mission to use all available tools to serve those in my community who make the ultimate sacrifice, our military and first responders. Our program takes a holistic approach to healing. It's not just the horses, though they are a huge part of the program's foundation. We incorporate Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Pastoral counseling, Reiki healing, Massage therapy, Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) and Meditation to treat those in our care using multiple avenues to achieve relief from anxiety, depression, PTSD and other stress disorders resulting from trauma. Each therapy session teaches skills that people can use to get through everyday life situations during and after the program. The goal of our program is to Restore individual wellness, inner peace and self-love and to heal the invisible wounds caused by trauma. This giving Tuesday, please help us raise the $3000 dollars to transport our new therapy horse from Palm City Florida to our facility in Tucson Arizona. We are partnering with the Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation in florida to adopt Ty and give him a second chance at a forever home with us at Ahava. Ty was found injured and abandoned at a boarding facility where he was rescued by the ASPCA and taken to the ERAF and has now found a home with us. Only issue is the transport cost. Any amount helps. We went to Florida over the summer to evaluate Ty and he is a perfect partner for healing. Help us find him a forever home and give him a new purpose, healing the hearts and minds of our heroes.
