𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲! 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗫𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸...

The five year long Downtown Links road construction project is finally finishing up and the new roads are ready for use. A lot of things have changed so we made a new page for directions and parking at xerocraft.org/parking. We have new road maps that include road directions, free parking spots, paid parking spots, and SunTran routes. You can find it all at xerocraft.org/parking.

There's a total of four maps. I'll post them in the image gallery. Two maps explain the new roads, directions, and parking (one map is a close-up with more details about parking). One map shows all the nearby paid parking lots. The final map is of the SunTran routes.

Hanging around Xerocraft, you sometimes get opportunities to be helpful. Here a couple of our members are helping hang an enormous dragon sculpture for the Warehouse Community Arts Center upcoming exhibition.
You just never know what might be next. Get involved!

We are saddened to announce that Matt Brock passed away suddenly on Friday night. Many of you may know Matt as Farmer. Matt was one of our core volunteers and managed the front desk and volunteer tasks. You would see them often on Saturday afternoons, overseeing our tours.

Farmer was an incredible person; endlessly helpful and always willing to volunteer more time. Few people worked as hard for our organization as they did. Matt's loss will be felt by us for a long time. He had many friends at Xerocraft and at the Steinfeld Warehouse.

We don't have much information yet. A memorial is being planned. We're also working on some ideas to assist the family. We'll announce more in a future email.

I spoke to Farmer's sister, Jessica. She had this to say:

"Thank you for giving Matthew a place where he felt loved and creative and helpful. It has been so heartwarming to have his people, some that we've never met, show up and tell us how much he was loved. You will never know what that means for our family. We will pass along information about his memorial when we have it. All who love him, are welcome" 🖤 The Brock Family

The sudden loss of Matt was very shocking and will be felt for a long time. Thank you, Farmer for the time you spent improving Xerocraft and the lives of the people you met.

Woodworkers often call their craft, "making sawdust". We joke, but dust collection is in a serious thing and an important part of woodworking. Our wood shop volunteers have just completed and major upgrade of our dust collection systems in the woodshop.
We are super appreciative of their efforts and are thrilled to have this upgrade for our members.

We REALLY want to tell you about a Blacksmithing class coming up at Xerocraft! (Except there's a bot that doesn't like the word for a hand held sharp tool.) So if you want to hand forge your very own kay-en-eye-eff-eee, check out the class coming up on July 26.

"How can I call Xerocraft?"

Well, you can't. Not really, anyway.

Xerocraft is supported almost entirely by dedicated, but super busy volunteers and much of the time there is no one available to answer the phone.

We used to have a phone number, but it only got spam calls asking about our car warranty.
So to reach someone at Xerocraft, email is best. If you know what shop you want to connect with, you can use "contact us" widget on the shop pages on our website. That will be sent to the specific shop manager.

For general inquiries, email [email protected]. (Please be patient, that goes to a volunteer, too!)

We absolutely want to help you and answer your questions, we just need to do it via email.

If all else fails, stop in on a Saturday afternoon between 1pm and 4pm and we'll give you a complete tour and do our best to answer any questions. We'd love to see you and show you the shop.
