The Great American Cleanup at Tucker Nature Preserve!

Mark Your Calendars- The Friends of Tucker Nature Preserve and the City of Tucker are hosting the 11th Annual Tucker Great American Cleanup at Tucker Nature Preserve on April 2 from 9:00 AM to noon! We will be cleaning up the trails, mulching, and removing invasive plants as well as planting seeds at the pollinator garden at the new Tucker Bee Habitat. Families with young children are welcome! We'll also be collecting books for the Preserve's Little Free Library. We are especially in need of children's books, so dust off those books your kids have outgrown and bring them by! Breakfast will be provided by Tucker Station Chick-fil-A. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long sleeves. Please sign up at the link below so we know to expect you. We hope to see you there!

The 20th Annual Tucker Historical Society Plant Swap and Share is set for Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, rain or shine!

Bring a plant, take a plant, including perennials, native plants, annuals, books, seeds, tools, pots, house plants, shrubs and trees!

Plants are not for sale, but donations are welcome!

Please be sure to clearly identify and label your donated plants.
At the end of the event, any leftover plants will be donated to Friends of Tucker Parks. We hope to see you there!

The annual Tucker Recreation Center Adult Field Day is almost here, and they are asking for help to make it a huge success! All proceeds from the event support scholarships for Tucker’s Summer Camp scholarship fund. This year there’s even a RAD 80’s theme.

Adult Field Day is May 8 from 5-8 pm, and Friends of Henderson Park are invited to participate! Volunteer, participate, or just spread the word. The more people Parks & Rec gets on site, the more funds are raised to help children in our community have a great summer at camp.

There are lots of different jobs to sign up for - sign up if you’d like to help, or if you just want to participate in the fun, admission is $25.

The dog park is complete! In the City of Tucker dogs are required by law to be on a leash - the new Henderson Dog Park gives pups a chance to run free, and maybe meet some new friends. Have a tiny dog? No worries - there are two fenced areas, one is for dogs 20 pounds and under. Find the park next to the parking lot by Lake Erin. The dog park is coming! The dog park is coming!

Now that's what we call PROGRESS! Workers are installing fencing today for the Henderson Park Dog Park (set to open in mid-January). Thanks to our Tucker Parks & Recreation team for overseeing this long anticipated project! 🐶🐕🐩🐕‍🦺

The Bridges Are Complete!

The final bridge at the red and white trails is complete. What a huge accomplishment for the trail project we started in 2016.

This bridge is the final step the Riter Design suggested to make the trails more easily accessible and up to date. The Red trail now has two new bridges for safer crossing in a beautiful area of the park.

Hikers take note – the White Trail Bridge is going to be closed the week of July 6 for repairs due to damage that occurred from flooding this spring.
