SCMA Obituary

After a long battle with paralysis and a weakened heart, the Sierra County Ministerial Alliance (SCMA) was removed from life support on 23 April 2024. The SCMA passed in the presence of a handful of close, caring friends. Reverend Ric Miller read a comforting passage.

This passing comes after a long, beautiful life of hospitality. The SCMA helped travelers in distress, provided emergency housing and antibiotics for those in need, brought people of different religious traditions together, and hosted prayer stations in various places and community worship on Good Friday and Thanksgiving and thus welcoming and introducing new pastors to the area. Even in death the SCMA is providing aide to the community by dispersing assets to local charities.

In lieu of flowers, the SCMA requested donations be made to Matthew 25, Shepherd’s Closet, and Open Arms Pregnancy Center.
