When Charlie was diagnosed with leukemia at just two years old, his family entered a world of hospital stays, treatments, uncertainty, and challenges no child should ever face.
But through it all, Charlie never stopped imagining what could be.

He read stories. He painted pictures. He danced through clinic hallways wearing his little top hat. He dreamed of all the things he might become one day: an artist, a saxophone player, an astronaut, a weatherman, even a chocolate maker. 🍫

His mom says the most remarkable thing about Charlie is that cancer never took away his joy.
As he prepares to step into a room designed just for him, filled with books, artwork, and the things he loves most, it's a reminder that childhood is about more than surviving. It's about growing, dreaming, learning, and believing in what comes next.

One of Charlie's favorite lines from Wonka is: "I've got a hat full of dreams."

And after everything he has overcome, those dreams are shining brighter than ever.

✨ Your support helps children like Charlie look beyond their diagnosis and toward a future filled with possibility. With 300 kids waiting for their wish to be granted the need to fund wishes is urgent. Donate today through our Summer of Wishes campaign and help make wishes come true.

When a child battles cancer, the entire family fights alongside them.

What many people didn't see was everything Charlie's family carried while helping him through treatment. They navigated hospital stays, uncertainty, financial stress, housing challenges, and heartbreaking loss.

During Charlie's cancer journey, his beloved Guelita was also fighting cancer.

Just months before Charlie completed treatment, they said goodbye to her.

Despite the grief, Charlie's family never stopped showing up with love, strength, and hope.
Now, as Charlie's wish comes to life, they see something they haven't felt in a long time: Healing.

"Knowing he will have a space of his own to grow in and heal in brings us peace as parents."

πŸ’™ Wishes don't just impact one child. They create moments of hope for entire families. Help bring healing to more wish families by making a gift today.

Cancer changed everything for Charlie and his family.

When he became immunocompromised, the home his family had purchased when he was a baby was no longer safe for him. They lost the home and spent years living with family while Charlie underwent treatment.

For much of his childhood, Charlie shared a room with his parents. No reading nook. No place to create art. No space to call his own.

When Make-A-Wish asked Charlie what he wished for most, his answer wasn't a trip or a big adventure.

He wished for a bedroom.

A cozy place filled with books, artwork, imagination, and the comforts every child deserves.
Because after years of uncertainty, Charlie wanted somewhere that finally felt like home.

✨ Your support is helping create that space. With 300 kids waiting for their wish to be granted the need to fund wishes is urgent. Donate today through our Summer of Wishes campaign and help make wishes like Charlie's come true.

This month, wish kids set off on incredible adventures β€” from Hawaii and St. Thomas to Disney parks, cruises, and even San Diego Comic-Con! Others enjoyed unforgettable moments closer to home, with shopping sprees, parties, a new camper, musical instruments, a tree house, and a special pool day.

At just two years old, Charlie was diagnosed with leukemia.

Two weeks later, he was living in the hospital, enduring chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsies, spinal taps, and treatments no child should ever have to face.

But even during the hardest days, Charlie remained Charlie.

While other children his age were learning their ABCs, Charlie amazed nurses and doctors by reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar from memory. Books became his escape, his comfort, and his adventure when cancer tried to steal his childhood.

Today, Charlie is cancer and chemotherapy free. And his love for stories has never faded.
"No matter how difficult things get, always find the joy around you in the stories you read."

❀️ Help children like Charlie keep turning pages toward hope. With 300 kids waiting for their wish to be granted the need to fund wishes is urgent. Donate today through our Summer of Wishes campaign and help make wishes come true.
