Congratulations to the Upendu wa Mungu clinic for their continued success!

Most recently we've supported them with additional tools for surgery and have continued with the formula for success program.

This includes a device for pre-operative hemoglobin testing. We've been so impressed with how advanced they've become in this element of their services.

Attached is also a photo of our most recent addition to the formula program. Her mother had a difficult delivery and unfortunately passed away, but we have been able to keep her healthy.

We at Larksview are honored to be able to contribute to the continued growth of the Upendu wa Mungu clinic. Recently cleared to begin performing general surgery, the clinic has hired on a new doctor and surgeon. The Clinic Director expressed the need for medical training to use an ultrasound machine we gave them previously. We were happy to provide that funding. This training will help them better prepare preoperatively for more directed surgical interventions. It’s exciting to see this clinic grow and flourish under the direction of Tori and Tumaini. We will continue to offer support wherever we can, so this remote clinic can expanded services to a community with so much need.

When we were last at the Upendu Wa Mungu clinic in Katavi last October, we saw many patients with vision loss, vitamin A deficiency, glaucoma, and other ocular disorders. We are thrilled that an opthalmology team has visited the clinic to help address some of those needs! Congratulations to John Espoir and the clinic staff for their continued efforts to imrove the health and welfare of those in this region.

Can’t say enough about this clinic team! So many videos to share when we have better connectivity. For now, just know that everything is going really well.  We love working with our counterparts, and are learning a lot from one another. 2 days to go… wish us luck!
