Alongside our partners at The Nature Conservancy and the Northern Sierra Partnership, SBC is pleased to release the new Wildfire Solutions Coalition video campaign, bringing together voices from across California to call on our next Governor to help make wildfire solutions a reality.

The campaign highlights the growing impacts of catastrophic wildfire on California’s communities and landscapes — while emphasizing that proven solutions already exist. By investing in ignition reduction, strategic fuel breaks, home safety, and landscape restoration and stewardship, California’s next Governor can help move us from disaster response to long-term preparedness.

We encourage you to watch, share, and help amplify the message to the future leader of our state.

Curious what kind of EV is the best fit for your lifestyle?

Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV)
BEVs offer an average range of around 250 miles per charge, with some models ranging from 100 to 400 miles when fully charged. Charging stations are abundant in California as the state continues to improve its EV infrastructure.

Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV)
PHEVs provide the flexibility of fueling with electricity or with gas. Plug-in Hybrid vehicles use the battery first to generate power, and switch to using the gasoline engine when the battery dies.

Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV)
Fuel Cells EVs use hydrogen and oxygen to create power with zero emissions because the output is water v***r!
Fuel cell tanks refuel quickly, similar to the time it takes to fill a gas or diesel tank, and fuel cell vehicles can get around 300+ miles of range.
However, fuel cell refueling stations are rarer than gasoline/diesel or electric vehicle charging stations, so routes need to be carefully considered.

🔥California cannot afford to cut wildfire resilience funding.

💲Despite increased overall state revenues, the Governor’s May Revise proposes the lowest level of wildfire resilience funding in seven years — even as experts predict an intense fire season and communities across the state face rising wildfire, insurance, and utility costs.

The Wildfire Solutions Coalition is urging the Legislature to:
🔵Protect the $200 million commitment to wildfire resilience from GGRF
🔵Increase Prop 4 wildfire investments to $500 million
