Patrick will discuss the growing issue of food and nutrition insecurity in the Tahoe Truckee region, including the challenges many seniors and vulnerable community members face in accessing healthy, reliable food. Tahoe Truckee Helping Hands is proud to share that we have received a grant from the Tahoe Mountain Resorts Foundation to support our 2026 volunteer background checks.

This funding helps ensure that we continue to serve our community in a safe, responsible, and professional way. Background checks are an essential part of protecting the seniors and adults with disabilities who trust us to support them.

Because of TMRF’s generosity, we can confidently recruit and onboard more volunteers while maintaining the highest standards of safety and care.

Join Tahoe Truckee Helping Hands on January 29 at 3:00 PM at the Truckee Senior Apartments for an informative and free talk with Jackie Griffin, RN, and Sheryl Schultz, MSW, Care Coordinators from Tahoe Forest Hospital.

They’ll share how the Care Coordination team helps people manage complex health situations by connecting them with providers, support programs, transportation, and other essential services. Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis, caring for a loved one, or just want to better understand what help is available, this event is for you.

The first Senior Art Workshop was a success! 🎨

We had a wonderful time decorating mugs, plates, and platters. Even better was the laughter, conversation, and creativity shared around the table.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Truckee Roundhouse for a morning of fun and connection. These workshops are all about building community through art, and we’re so excited to see this program come to life.

More workshops are on the way!
