Last Saturday at Olympic Valley Chapel, something happened that we're still talking about.
Dan Tepfer performed his Inventions / Reinventions — Bach's original fifteen Inventions played in sequence, with Tepfer improvising the nine keys Bach never finished, live, for the first time, in a chapel in the Sierra Nevada. The New York Times called his album "hard not to be swept away by." The room of a hundred people proved that right.
Afterward, guests lingered over wine and tapas, talking with each other and with Dan in the kind of easy, warm atmosphere that only happens when the music has already done the hard work of bringing people together. Scroll through out photos and you'll see what we mean.
We're halfway through the 2026 series. Three extraordinary concerts are behind us. Three are still ahead — and the next one is just a month away.
July 2 | The Dolphin Quartet
North Tahoe Hebrew Congregation Center, Tahoe Vista
4–6 PM | Tickets $40–$60 | Students $10
Formed at Juilliard and based in New York, the Dolphin Quartet blends classical masterworks, overlooked gems, and original compositions with improvisation and a spirit of genuine collaboration. Up close, in an intimate North Tahoe venue, on a summer evening.
If the last three concerts are any indication, you'll want to be in the room.
