Thank you to everyone who joined for the Thelin Trail Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! ✂️

Truckee Mayor, Anna Klovstad • Public Works Director, Becky Bucar • TDLT Executive Director, John Svahn • TTF Executive Director, Cory Caldwell - all spoke about the collaborative efforts that went into making this trail. Big shout out to Steve Wentz from Momentum Trail Concepts for his amazingly crafted machine work.

TTF crew will be installing signage, but Thelin Trail is designed for all non-motorized users (including Class 1 E-Bikes) and offers a safe, convenient route to walk or ride into downtown Truckee, and provide a more direct link to the Sawtooth Trailhead. 🌲

This natural surface trail connects the Ponderosa Palisades neighborhood to Segment 4A of the Truckee River Legacy Trail.

Check it out for yourself and enjoy this beautiful fall weather! ☀️

Our TTF Board President Jack Macy lead a group run with Donner Party Mountain Runners on the new Thelin Trail! 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Steve Wentz of Momentum Trail Concepts and TTF trail crew have been hard at work this summer. The Thelin Trail connects the Ponderosa Palisades neighborhood to Segmant 4A of the Truckee River Legacy Trail. 🔗

Thelin is a safe, convenient route for residents and visitors to walk or ride into downtown Truckee, and provides a more direct link to the Sawtooth Trailhead. 🌲

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony next Wednesday 9/30 at 3pm. We’ll put the coordinates on our story, but you can park by the new bridge and walk, run, bike, or roll down to the Thelin Trail connector on The Legacy Trail! See you there✂️

🌲P2M Summit Link Sections🌲

Section 2 - Southside

✨Features:

• This 11,340-foot (2.1 mile) section runs through second-growth forest, with beautiful patches of wildflowers in late spring. Section 2 runs along a largely a northern facing slope that is mostly shaded and cooler.

⚒️ Construction Highlights:

• Numerous armored rock crossings will need to be constructed due to snow melt drainage areas.

• The terrain varies from large clearings to thick brush and large tree growth, but construction should proceed rapidly with machine and hand crew. Crew and equipment access is excellent via the unimproved Rattlesnake Road.

• Completion of the new Pines to Mines Trail construction is contingent on available funding and resources. Your contribution will help us build the Summit Link section, maintain existing trails, and connect everyone to the beauty that resides from Truckee and Nevada City.

Jump around, our bike valet is in full swing! 🚲

Have you parked your bike with us this summer? 4th of July Downtown Parade we parked 175 bikes, and at the Air Show we parked a whopping 352 bikes! (We thank you for your patience at these larger events!)

We love to see our community using a sustainable way of travel through town. Our bike valet is free, donations are welcomed. We still have a lot of summer events left, including the Brewfest tomorrow! See you there, Truckee! ♥️

Big thanks to TNT Junior Cycling Team for an awesome volunteer day on the Compass Skills Loop! ⚒️🤘

TNT Adventure team and coaches helped with basic maintenance, trimming, and drainage clearing. We love our work days with TNT and getting youths involved with trail stewardship. It’s a huge help to us, and they get a hands on experience learning about what all goes into trail building. Plus they get to test out their work! 🚵‍♂️

Compass Skills Loop is across from the Sawtooth dirt parking lot by the bathrooms. Great for beginners and those who want to practice their skills!
